Man gets 3-year RI in sexual assault case

Kasargod, Mar 20: A court here on Saturday sentenced a youth who was convicted in a sexual assault case on a woman in 2013 to three years rigorous imprisonment along with fine.

Additional District Sessions Court (I), pronouncing the sentence, also slapped Rs. 25,000 fine on C. Sanal Kumar.

The accused is, a native of Peralam locality in Kannur district, according to the police.

Fine imposed

The court awarded two years jail term for sexual assault on the woman along with a fine of Rs. 15,000.

It also sentenced him to one year in prison along with Rs. 10,000 for encroaching upon the woman’s residence falling under the Cheemeni police station limits on January 7, 2013 to perpetrate the crime.

Bengaluru, April 3: Central Crime Branch (CCB) Bengaluru has arrested two persons for allegedly possessing illicit liquor.

The probe team also allegedly seized bottles worth Rs 1.25 lakhs from their possession on Thursday.

A case has been registered against the accused and investigation into the matter is underway, Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police informed news agency.

More details in this regard are awaited.

Madikeri, Jul 24: Water from river Cauvery, which is deemed as holy, and mud from Kodagu, the birth district of river Cauvery was collected and will be sent to Ayodhya for use during groundbreaking (Bhoomi Pooja) ceremony for the construction of Ram Mandir on August 5.

Workers of Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Hindu Jagarana Vedike collected the soil and water from River Cauvery at Talacauvery Kshetra, the birthplace of river Cauvery.

Special pooja was offered at Talacauvery, praying for the timely completion of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Mangaluru, May. 21: The Bearys Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI Mangaluru) is held the Eid Kits distribution program on Wednesday, 27th day of Ramadan (20.05.2020) at BCCI office in Kankanady, Mangaluru. 

It distributed around 250 kits including some cash amount to the needy

BCCI president Mr S. M. Rasheed Haji, vice president Mr. Abdul Rauf Puthige, Administrative Secretary Mr. Nissar F. Mohammed, and Executive Members  Mr. Mumtaz Ali B.M., 
Mr. Mohammad Haris,
Mr. Mohammad Sharief, Mr.  Asif Soofikhan were present.
