Man stabbed to death by cousin over property row

Bengaluru, Oct 9: A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death by his cousin on Friday night in DJ Halli police station limits. Police detained the suspect's father and are questioning him regarding a property dispute. The deceased, Stanley was a catering contractor and resident of Doddanna Nagar.Stabbing

The incident took place in Doddanna Nagar near Kavalbyrasandra around 10.30pm. When Stanley was walking home after work, he was intercepted by the cousin following which a quarrel broke out over a site. In the melee, the assailant repeatedly stabbed him to death before fleeing.

Neighbours, who rushed out on hearing Stanley's loud cries, found him lying in a pool of blood and alerted police. They shifted him to a nearby hospital but he was declared brought dead.

Based on a complaint filed by Stanley's family, police have detained the victim's uncle. The accused is at large.

Bareilly (UP), May 19: Samajwadi leader Chhotelal Diwakar and his son, Sunil Diwakar, were shot dead in broad daylight in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. The entire incident was caught on camera.

The murder was apparently a fallout of a dispute over laying of a road under MGNREGA.

Chhotelal Diwakar had contested the 2017 assembly elections on a Samajwadi Party ticket.

Superintendent of Police, (SP), Sambhal, Yamuna Prasad, said, "Some work was being carried out under MGNREGA due to which some dispute happened. Two people have been shot dead. We will reach the spot of the incident to find more details."

According to his family members, Diwakar and his son had gone for a walk in the fields when the assailants came on a motorbike and after a brief altercation, shot them dead. They fled on foot, leaving their motorbike behind.

A large number of SP workers reached the village soon after the news of the double murder spread.

SP Yamuna Prasad who reached the spot that falls under Behjoi police station, soon after the murders, said that a manhunt has been launched for the assailants. He said that further investigations were underway and the bodies have been sent for post mortem.

New Delhi, Jan 2: A 20-year-old man set his motorcycle on fire after he was challaned by the traffic police in south Delhi's Greater Kailash area on Wednesday, police said.

Vikas, a resident of Sangam Vihar, was challaned by the traffic police for riding the motorcycle without helmet, a senior police official said.

The traffic police challaned him and impounded the motorcycle, following which Vikas set the bike on fire, the officer said.

A case has been registered and the accused arrested, the officer added.

Belagavi, Jan 19: Miscreants have murdered a couple and their son at Dodwad Village, about 50 km from here, in the wee hours on Sunday.

The victims were identified as Shvananda Basavanthappa Andanashetty, his wife Shanthavva and their son Vinod.

Senior Police officials visited the spot and a case was registered at Dodwad Police Station.
