Mangaluru, Oct 18: A local court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment and fined him Rs 1 lakh after convicting him of murdering wife.
The convict is William Lobo (37), who hailed from Kodagu district, hacked his wife Blossom Lobo to death with a sickle on August 18, 2017 after suspecting her suspected her fidelity.
William, who was working as a cab driver in Bengaluru, had fled soon after committing the crime in Mangaluru and later surrendered at the police station.
Blossom and her husband were married for six years and had a son. While Blossom was working at a private firm in Mangaluru, her husband used to work with one of the taxi aggregators in Bengaluru. He used to come to Mangaluru during weekends.
Urwa inspector Raveesh Nayak filed the chargesheet. As many as 26 witnesses were examined, said public prosecutor Raju Poojary Bannadi. Judge Sharada B delivered the judgement.
