D

ear KK,

Thank you for highlighting the meaning of DEEPAM.. We Muslims believe in ONE GOD(ALLAH) and we believe ALLAH created all that exists including mankind, animals, jinns and natural universe and associating partners with ALLAH is a Great Sin... To prove that ALLAH has sent many messengers to this earth, the prophets of God conveyed the message of oneness of God and we should worship him alone and not take created things as God. Fire is a creation of God, When we ask or worship the Fire. We ourselves are putting in more danger of going far away from God. Quran is the book which is given to Prophet Muhammad pbuh, the last and final messenger of ALLAH. Quran is still the same without any concoction or addition from that time. We should read the QURAN (quranproject website for better understanding) to undestand and PONDER on its Verses. If U are honest YOU will see the guidance from ALLAH... Lord of the universe. I wish YOu worship NA TASYA PRATIMA ASTI (The god that has no image) . Worship the CREATOR not his creation.

I think MUSLIM leaders should honestly say the TRUTH to those who want them to light the DEEPAM and stay away from such rituals... If U think U will not get vote from hindus....Then think all hearts are controlled by Allah. Its easy for ALLAH. Atleast be HONEST and help the community.

Deepam - Lighting the lamp.

HINDUS while performing puja , prayer or any religious function light the deepam. It is the starting of the prayer.

These ghee or oil lamps, called Diyas, are meant for performing Puja according to Hindu customs and rituals. The reason for lighting a lamp or deepam is - Fire is the conveyor of our prayers & sacrifices to the Gods. Fire is also a God of divine knowledge, who leads man to the Gods. He was one of the most important Vedic Gods.

Vedic rituals all involve Agni. Agni is present in many phases of life such as honoring of a birth , prayers , at weddings - the homam where the bride and groom circle the fire seven times known as sapta padi. During death also, fire is required.

Agni is the one who knows all things that are born, created or produced. He is the God of will-power, united with wisdom.By lighting a deepam , fire enables human beings to cultivate strong conviction and belief in God. It helps to develop a meaningful faith and deep devotion to support a dedicated mind towards God.

Before starting our daily prayers, we light the Oil deepam by chanting a shloka

The government of India has added 141 more flights to West Asian countries for the second phase of Vande Bharat Mission, its massive repatriation programme for citizens stranded overseas because of Covid-19-related travel restrictions.

The second phase was to end on May 22. However, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said the ongoing phase will last till June 13 and that India is looking at making Frankfurt a hub for the mission.

With these new flights, more than half of them to the United Arab Emirates, the total number of flights in the second phase of the programme have gone up to more than 400, people familiar with developments said on condition of anonymity.

The flights were added due to increased demand from citizens stranded in West Asian countries and the availability of adequate quarantine facilities in states for the returning Indians, the people said. As with all the flights operated so far under Vande Bharat Mission, priority will be given in the second phase to Indian nationals with compelling reasons for returning to the country, they added.

The additional flights are from the UAE (81 flights), Oman and Saudi Arabia (15 flights each), Kuwait (14 flights), Qatar (11 flights) and Bahrain (five flights).

A majority of the flights are bound for Kerala (84 flights), while the other destinations are Delhi (10 flights), Tamil Nadu (nine flights), Telangana (six flights) Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir (five flights each), Bihar, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh (four flights each), Punjab (three flights), Odisha and West Bengal (two flights each), Chandigarh, Karnataka and Goa (one flight each).

The other 260-odd flights being operated during the second phase of Vande Bharat Mission are from Armenia, Australia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mauritius, Myanmar, Nepal, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Oman, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Tajikistan, the UK, Ukraine and the US.

The second phase of the repatriation programme began on May 16 and will continue till June 13, with all the flights being operated by state-run Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express. Private airlines are likely to be included in the third phase.

As of Thursday, a total of 23,475 Indians have been repatriated under Vande Bharat Mission. The second phase had included new destinations such as Istanbul, Ho Chi Minh City and Lagos, and had increased flights to the US and Europe.

More than 259,000 Indians in 98 countries across the world have registered to return under Vande Bharat Mission. Most of them are workers (28%), students (25%), professionals (14.5%), and short-term visa holders such as tourists (7.6%). Fishermen, deportees and Indian nationals who benefited from visa amnesties have also registered.

Bengaluru, Jul 25: Kalmane Kamegowda, the lake man who was recently praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a recent Mann Ki Baat, is in serious condition after he tested positive for COVID-19, former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy said on Saturday.

"The health condition of Lake Kamegowda is serious. It is our responsibility to save him. I demand that the state government make appropriate arrangements for emergency treatment," Kumaraswamy tweeted.

"The Prime Minister also praised him in Mann Ki Baat. Chief Ministers expressed appreciation. Only praising doesn't help him at this point of time. The government needs to come forward to treat him in a good hospital when he's sick," he said in the following tweet.

Kamegowda of Dasanadoddi village in Malavalli taluk had drawn the attention of the Prime Minister in the 66th 'Mann Ki Baat' for constructing ponds to conserve rainwater during the summer.

Responding to Kumaraswamy's remark, State Medical Education Minister Dr Sudhakar K said that he has already called up the Mandya Medical College and directed the hospital to admit and treat Kamegowda.

"As soon as I noticed the seriousness of Kamagowad's health, I called the director of the Mandya Medical College and informed him that he should be admitted to the hospital and treated. I pray to the Lord that the Kamagowadas who inspire the whole country will heal soon," Sudhakar K tweeted.

Mangaluru, May 9: A team of doctors at Mangaluru's Mangala Hospital has developed a 'bubble helmet' that will provide an alternative to patients who need an oxygen mask.

The team was led by Dr Ganapathi, medical director of Mangala Hospital and Mangala Kidney Foundation in the city.

The bubble helmet, which has a special collar attached to it, helps the patients with breathing issues, and to avoid using ventilator facility.

Dr Ganapathi said, "When a patient needs intubation we will be providing them oxygen bubble helmets and we will first give it a trial before we intubate a patient."

"I have converted an ordinary snorkelling mask into a ventilator assist device, this mask can be used as a personal protection device by connecting it to a bacterial viral filter," he added.

Dr Ganapathi said that the connector has been made available in India and a snorkelling mask can be easily converted into a ventilator assist device. And it will make the management of coronavirus patients easy.
