Many talents remain hidden without exposure to the outer world until they reach some milestone. Such milestone sometimes makes the talents to reach a higher level of recognition. It may be in school/college days or outside of it.

Shoaib Sayed Shahul Hameed, a 16-year-old Mangalurean in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, came to my glaring attention when he was selected for   the "GOTHIA CUP" (The World Youth Cup) tournament, which is now underway in Sweden. He was selected from Jeddah Sports Club (JSC) Football Team, Jeddah, which is the only soccer academy recognized in Saudi Arabia under-18.

JSC Football Team reached Sweden last week to participate in the world's largest youth cup football tourney. Around 1,600 teams from more than 80 countries compete in this playoff every year.

The team, led by its captain Azim Ahmad, will face USA, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Sweden & other youth teams from all over the world at Gothenburg stadium in Sweden. 4 officials of the team including its Coach Basil Basheer accompanied the team.

Shoaib is participating under-18 category in the World Youth Championship at Gothenburg in Sweden. Shoaib, representing JSC, is contesting in Group 7 in which teams from America, Denmark and Spain took part & his team's first playoff is against Spain & then Denmark and America respectively.

Shoaib is fond of football since childhood. He took part in various interschool & other football tournaments in Riyadh, Jeddah & other parts of the Kingdom & bagged many trophies & prizes. He not only restricted his games to only football, but also participated & pocketed many cups in the athletics.

Born in Al-Khobar, he did his schooling from kinder garten upto grade 7 in International Indian School Dammam. Due to his father's transfer in company from Khobar to Riyadh, he did his high school from grade 8 to grade 10 in Riyadh Al-Yasmeen International School.

He is now pursuing his grade 11 in the same school in science faculty. Representing in the international level from his Al-Yasmeen Intl.
