Mangalurean woman Joyce Rego crowned ‘Mrs India Dubai'

Mangalurean beauty Joyce John Rego has been crowned ‘Mrs India Dubai 2017’ at the ‘Mrs India Earth' grand finale in Delhi.

She was among the top 25 contestants and the only finalist chosen among the 1000 applicants from the UAE. The Finale was held on October 6 at New Delhi.

Joyce, a semi government employee and mother of 2 kids, is residing in UAE past 12 years. She is daughter of John Gudinho and Christine Gudinho residing in Jyoti Nagar, Paldane, Mangaluru. She is married to John Rego from Nagercoil, who is currently working in Dubai. Joyce is blessed with 2 kids - Joylin Rego 7 years and Jonathan Rego 3.5 years.

The ordinary woman Joyce had only dreamt about helping the underprivileged families/children and has now got a platform to work on her dream project. Any underprivileged family can change their life thru right education, says Joyce. Joyce is also working on her dream project which will help the poor parents give their children the best quality education which will in return help them change their life.

Bengaluru, Jun 3: Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Tuesday intensified preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in a bid to make air-travel contactless.

The airport has introduced contact-less self-check-in kiosks, non-intrusive thermal cameras, self bag drop facility and other features.

Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) had earlier said that it will ensure that the taxis are sanitised and the drivers are screened before every trip to eliminate all chances of infection.

"Drivers have been instructed to maintain a safe distance. They will be encouraged to use hand sanitiser and face masks to make the car a safe space. Able-bodied passengers are advised to load their luggage into the car without the driver's assistance. For elderly citizens and passengers with reduced mobility, drivers will assist while following hygiene measures," BIAL statement had said.

The masks have been made mandatory for both drivers as well as passengers.

Karnataka on Monday reported 187 new cases of coronavirus, with which the State's total COVID-19 count has surged to 3,408.

Bengaluru, Mar 30: Army personnel on Sunday distributed food packets and other essential items to the needy and sprayed Calcium Hypochlorite solution in Koramangala and Vanarpet areas amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The Central government had on Tuesday announced a 21-day lockdown in a bid to stop the spread of the deadly virus that has left several thousand dead globally.

A total of 979 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in India, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday.

Udupi, Mar 1: Acting on credible information, Udupi district police arrested five persons and seized 1.35 kg of crude gold worth Rs 56.99 lakh from the possession of the accused, custom department said on Sunday.

A case has been registered against four people at Kundapur and one at Byndoor on charges of gold smuggling. The accused were transporting gold from Calicut to Bhatkal, informed Joannes George, joint Commissioner of Customs.

Off these five accused, four persons were held at Kundapur, while other at Byndoor on Saturday evening.
