Mangaluru, May 16: Hours after Bharatiya Janata Party candidates won seven out of eight assembly constituencies in Dakshina Kannada district, a clash erupted at Adyarpadav on the outskirts of Mangaluru thanks to a victory rally.

A group of saffron activists, who were taking out a rally at Adyarpadav under the limits of Kankandy Rural Police Station, burst crackers in front of a mosque at around 8 p.m.

When local Muslims objected the behavior of saffron activists, they reportedly pelted stones at the mosque. The window panes of the mosque were damaged. This led to a clash between the two groups.

A few minutes later, unidentified miscreants pelted stones at the entrance gate of a nearby Anjaneya temple. BJP activists claimed that the miscreants pelted stones on victory rally too. Meanwhile, a motorbike was also found damaged.

According to police, local residents identified as Safwan, Vanajaksha, Ashok, Arun and Abhijit were injured in the clash. Among them Ashok got admitted to a hospital.

A tense atmosphere prevailed in the area following the incident. Police tightened the security.

To all those who voted for BJP, be prepared for another 5 years of suffering just like 2008-2013 when BJP was in power.
