Mangaluru: CM visits B A Mohideen in hospital, wishes him a speedy recovery

Mangaluru, Jan 8: Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah on Monday paid a visit to former minister B A Mohideen who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.

The CM who arrived in Dakshina Kannada on Sunday to inaugurate various developmental projects initiated by the state government spent the night in Mangaluru.

In the morning, before leaving the city, Siddaramaiah headed to the Yenepoya Hospital at Kodiyalbail and wished Mr Mohideen a speedy recovery after enquiring his health.

Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai, Food and Civil Supplies Minister U T Khader, MLAs Mohiuddin Bava and J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Yenepoya University chancellor Abdlulla Kunhi were present on the occasion.

Mr Mohideen had served as the higher education minister and general secretary of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee in the past.

former minister B A Mohideen who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Why he cant get admit in govt hospital? CM only said to promote goct hospitals. If ministers under going treatments in govt hospitals, then those hospitls will get all facility. Otherwise nothing

Which ever party he may be ONE of the best ;gutsy and honest  chief minister of INDIA. Never bow to any pressure to oppositions flase un fare case and propoganda. This is what all INDIA presently reuqired.

Mangaluru, Apr 22: Iftar parties, Taraweeh and weekly Friday prayers in mosques have been banned in the district during Ramadan amid Coronavirus theat, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh said here on Wednesday.

In a release issued here, she said, “As per the guidelines issued by the State government and Wakf Board, arranging Iftar gathering, and offering Taraveeh Namaz and Friday Namaz at mosques or dargas during the month of Ramadan has been prohibited as a precaution measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Therefore, offer prayers at homes instead of going to mosques," the DC said.

“No one can perform Namaz in the mosques except the muezzin and the Pesh imam and the staff of the mosque. Also, gathering neighbors and offering collective prayers at anybody's home is also not allowed. Masjid administration committees must follow the directives of the government, Wakf Board and the District Administration”, the DC urged.

Bengaluru, Aug 6: With rains in several parts of Karnataka amid Covid-19 pandemic, state Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar on Thursday asked the people to maintain caution and contact the Health department helpline in case of any symptoms.

"There is heavy rain in several districts of the state's coastal, Malnad and north interior regions. People have to observe utmost caution during these rains amid corona infections. In case of any symptoms like fever, cough and cold immediately call the health department helpline 104," Sudhakar tweeted.

As of August 5 evening, cumulatively 1,51,449 Covid-19 positive cases have been confirmed in the state, which includes 2,804 deaths and 74,679 discharges.

Among the districts where the new cases were reported, Bengaluru urban tops the list accounting for 64,881 cases.

Regarding Bengaluru, Sudhakar said, there are 4,276 beds across 11 Covid care centres in Bengaluru.

"As of today morning, 936 of them i.e., 27.79 percent are vacant. Out of the 3,346 patients, 306 patients are due for discharge today," he said in another tweet.

Aimed at availing beds at Covid-19 hospitals for symptomatic patients and those in need, the government had decided to shift all asymptomatic patients to Covid care centres.

Mangalore, Feb 4: Final chance to present evidence and record eyewitness statements with the Deputy Commissioner of Udupi G Jagadeesh regarding the December 19 violence will be held on February 6 between 1100 and 1300 hrs.

Eyewitness and evidence presenters can depose at the Assistant’s Commissioner’s Court Hall in the Mini Vidhan Soudha in the city.

The Deputy Commissioner said that no evidence would be accepted after this last round of public hearing.
