Bengaluru, Apr 12: Cheif Minister BS Yediyurappa on Sunday paid homage to Legendary Kannada actor Dr. Rajkumar on his 14th death anniversary.

Yediyurappa shared a poster of Dr Rajkumar on his Twitter with a caption, “We pay homage to Karnataka Ratna Dr. Rajlumar on his death anniversary. Let us keep the unique service rendered by Dr. Rajkumar through Theater and movies. ”

Dr Rajkumar is one of the greatest actors in the history of Kannada film industry and is known as a legendary actor in Sandalwood. He has acted in more than 200 movies and has a huge fan base even after his demise.

Mangaluru, Jan 13: Supporting former state chief minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy who released a "CD on the December 19 Mangaluru violence", Dakshina Kannada party unit president Mohammed Kunhi on Monday demanded a probe into the violence.

Mr Kumaraswamy, who released 35 video clips related to the violence, had demanded the suspension of the Police Commissioner and also sought a house committee to probe the incident.

Addressing media personnel here, Kunhi questioned, "If the police department did not commit any mistake why is the state government looking worried about the CDs released by Kumaraswamy?"

Bengaluru, Jan 14: The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday issued a notice to the government of Karnataka while hearing the plea for ordering Judicial probe into the December 19, violence and police action in Mangaluru.

On December 19, the local police while taking action against anti-CAA and NRC protesters had fired at them which had killed two citizens. The police action was then followed by curfew in the region for over 48 hours.

The High Court bench hearing the plea of JD(s) leader Iqbal and Sullia Pattan Panchayat member Iqbal seeking its intervention to order judicial probe into the matter has issued the notice to the government.
