Mangaluru, Jul 22: A city based television journalist, who was suffering from dengue for past few days, died at a private hospital here last night.
The deceased is Nagesh Padu, who was working for BTV Kannada news channel as a cameraman. He was also a member of the working journalists’ union.
He was admitted to the KMC Hospital here where he breathed his last without responding to treatment.
The local media fraternity has expressed condolence at the demise of Nagesh.
Mangaluru, Feb 15: Dense fog formation and poor visibility at the runway forced to delay and diversions of some flights arriving and take off at the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on Saturday.
Flights take off and landings were suspended from 0700 hours am to 1030 hours.
Many flights to land in the morning were diverted.
Bengaluru, Jul 31: A total of 5,483 new COVID-19 cases and 84 deaths were reported in Karnataka in the last 24 hours, the state's health department informed on Friday.
Karnataka now has a total of 1,24,115 coronavirus cases, including 72,005 active cases and 49,788 discharges.
So far, 2,134 deaths have been reported from the state.
Meanwhile, India reported the highest single-day spike of 55,079 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, crossing the 16-lakh mark, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed on Friday.
Bengaluru, Feb 6: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said that portfolios for the 10 new ministers who sworn in on Thursday will be allocated by February 8.
Speaking to media persons, he said that he will go to Delhi in the coming days and the date of his visit will be finalised soon.
He is expected to meet the high command again to finalise the list of BJP MLAs for three berths in the Cabinet.
