Mangaluru: Dozens injured as gallery collapses during Pro-Kabaddi match

Mangaluru, Jan 23: Veekshitha Arasa, an officially certified Zumba instructor is all set to present Zumba fitness on the Beach to the people of Mangalore on January 26, 2020. The Zumba event will be hosted at Panambur Beach on Republic Day (Sunday) from 4.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. Entry is free to the public and there are no tickets.

Veekshitha Arasa will be accompanied by some of the immensely talented Zumba Instructors from Bangalore who have been passionately spreading love for Zumba through their classes and events. Some amazing instructors from Mangalore too will be joining the event to make it even more happening.

With the sole aim to promote fitness among Mangaloreans these Zumba Instructors will make you groove to peppy, energetic numbers and make your evening sweat-blasting and fantastic.

The main presenter and host of this event Veekshitha hails basically from Mangalore. Having conducted Zumba training in various fitness centers and corporates across Bangalore and being the presenter in several mega events both in India and International Platforms in Hong Kong, Veekshitha always had a dream to have a full-fledged Zumba fitness event in her own city - Mangalore. Mangaluru, Jun 29: A hospital set up in 1848 in the Port City has to remain closed till July 5 as majority of the Doctors and Staff at Lady Goschen Government Hospital are quarantined after coming in contact with a COVID-19 infected person.

Hospital Medical Superintendent said that both in-patient and out-patient wings of the hospital will remain closed till July 5 as there is a need to fumigate and sanitise all the departments of the hospital. Patients for treatment under 'Ayushman Bharat – Arogya Karnataka' scheme will be sent to private medical colleges with the referral card from the hospital. The hospital will start functioning normally from July 6.

The Lady Goschen Government Hospital, earlier known as the maternity Hospital, is the oldest hospital in the district and dates back to 1848.

Udupi, Jan 1: A 53-year-old Journalist of a Mangalore-based media house was found dead at his flat in Manipal on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Rohit Raj (53), a resident of Pandeshwar Mangaluru.

According to the Manipal police, on December 31, Rohit Raj had attended a New Year party celebration at Kadiyali, Udupi along with his wife.
