Mangaluru, Nov 20: Bajrang Dal National Convenor Sohan Singh Solanki will be the keynote speaker at the Vishwa Hindu Parishad convention to build pressure on the Centre to resolve the Ramjanmabhooomi issue, at the Nehru Maidan here on November 25. Similar conventions will be held on the same day in Ayodhya, Nagpur and Bengaluru.

Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, VHP Mangaluru unit secretary Sharan Pumpwell said that the convention in Mangaluru will be among the four major ones as per the directions of the religious heads early this year. They wanted public pressure to be brought on the Centre to resolve the Ayodhya Ram Temple issue through legislation in the upcoming Parliament session. The Supreme Court, he said, was not keen on early disposal of the civil dispute.

Apart from the major convention in Mangaluru and three other places in the country, Mr. Pumpwell said, a mega convention will be held in New Delhi on December 9. The VHP will organise conventions in 525 Lok Sabha constituencies between November 25 and December 9. MPs from Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies will participate in the conventions, he said.

In Mangaluru, a rally will be taken out on November 25 from Ambedkar Circle to the Nehru Maidan at 3.30 p.m. People from different parts of Dakshina Kannada and other parts of the State will take part in the rally. VHP activists will go around the district on November 22 to invite people to the programme, he said.
