Addressing mediapersons on Saturday, former Union minister Janardhan Poojary said that the Mangaluru Dasara started in 1990 and is known across the country as well as in different parts of the world.

“The Mangaluru Dasara is being organised with the strength and power of the people of the region. Over 75 tableaux will take part in the Dasara procession,” said Poojary, to a query from reporters, and added, “We do not expect any financial assistance from the government. Even during the renovation of the temple, no financial assistance from the government was sought.”

Temple Management Committee treasurer Padmaraj R said that the Dasara celebrations will commence with the installation of the idols of the Navadurgas and Goddess Sharada at 11.15 am on October 1. Daily pooja and rituals will be offered to the idols of Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kooshmandini, Siddhidatri, Mahakali, Mahagowri, Kathyayini, Skanda Mata, Adishakti, Shailaputri and Ganapathi, he said and added that, on October 9, a Chandika Homa and a Hagalothsava will be held. The mass feeding of devotees will be held on October 10.

Cultural programmes featuring leading artists will be held as part of the celebrations on all the days during the festival from 6 pm onwards. Stating that around 75 tableaux are expected to participate in the procession this year, the treasurer said that over 500 colourful umbrellas will also be part of the procession. The streets where the procession pass through are already illuminated to mark Dasara festivities.

He appealed to building owners to illuminate their buildings to add colour to the Dasara procession. The Dasara procession will traverse 7 kilometres, from Kshetra - Ladyhill - Lalbagh - Ballalbagh - Kodialbail - Hampankatte - University College - Ganapathi High School Road - Car Street - Chitra Talkies before reaching the Kshetra. The idols will later be immersed in the temple pond in the early hours of October 12.

NA TASYA PRATIMA ASTI... There is no image of God.
NA SAMDRSE tisthati rupam asya - His form is not to be seen, no one sees him with the eyes... (Svetasvatara upanishad 4:20)
The images that U worship is not God according to VEDAS..
How come u guys waste a lot of money on that image.. which is motionless and lifeless..

Humans are an intelligent creature which God created, If they use their intellect in finding the TRUE GOD ... God guides them to the TRUTH... please try to search and dont just follow what U follow blindly without logic and reason.

Bengaluru, April 3: The ASHA worker, who was attacked by locals in Sadiq layout area in Bengaluru while conducting a coronavirus survey, on Friday expressed satisfaction with police action in the matter.

"I am happy that five people have been arrested for attacking me while I was conducting a survey in view of COVID-19 in Sadiq layout area in Bengaluru on April 1. We serve the people and work for the betterment of the society," Krishnaveni, the ASHA worker, told news agency here.

ASHA workers, who were deployed to spread awareness about coronavirus and identify suspected cases, were allegedly attacked by a group of locals in the area on Wednesday.

"We had been conducting surveys for the past 14 days ever since a positive coronavirus case was identified in the area. A person came and asked why we were gathering information. We informed him that a positive case was identified in the area," Krishnaveni said.

"They made an announcement from the mosque not to give any information to us. Afterwards, several people came out of their houses and started attacking us," she added.

Police initiated an investigation and have made arrests in the matter.

This comes as the country is under a 21-day lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus, which has claimed the lives of at least 56 people and infected over 2,000 people.

The Bharatiya Janata Party workers belonging to Muslim community are bewildered over the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act. A considerable number of BJP’s Muslim workers have distanced themselves from the pro-CAA meetings being organised by the party in different parts of India.

There is a deep divide within members of the BJP minority wing, with many upset and angry with the party. During its membership drive in 2018 for the minority wing, BJP had enrolled lakhs of Muslims across India.

A senior Muslim member of the saffron party in Hyderabad explained, “We are very upset. There is no one listening to us within the party. Majority of the members are introspecting on their future role in the party. Few are vocal about it. Those, who believe they still have a future in the party, have decided to keep quiet on this issue.”

This is the reason why they are not attending the pro-CAA rallies or interacting with people. If anybody approaches and questions them about CAA, they maintain they have no idea, just like the common man. A member of the BJP belonging to the minority community says they have been hurt by the decision of the government on CAA.

“Shia Muslims in Pakistan are suffering. They have been targeted in that country from time to time. The BJP patronised a large number of Shia Muslims. The Shia community in Uttar Pradesh even sided with the BJP. But what has the community got in the end? The persecuted Shia minorities in Pakistan have not got justice,” the party member from minority community lamented.

There are 400 families belonging to the Shia community in Hyderabad, who have relatives in Karachi and Quetta in Pakistan. These Shias had migrated to Pakistan from the Nizam state after its accession to India. These families were hopeful that after aligning with BJP, there would be a reprieve for them. But the stand taken by BJP has left them in lurch. The CAA provides for granting Indian citizenship only to non-Muslim minorities from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

“We have been left with nothing. Shias have not been politically active in all the three countries of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh and have suffered due to this reason. There was some hope in India, but even that has been lost now,” the minority wing leader remarked.

National vice president of BJP minority cell Farid Sheikh Liaquat Ali says, “Party workers and common people are asking the same question.”

I have told them what union home minister Amit Shah has said in Parliament, that CAA is not against Indian Muslims. But people are not convinced. Every meeting or social function that I attend, I find that people are angry and upset. I have been with the BJP for 33 years and whatever I hear from the people is being conveyed to the party.”

The incident that occurred at the madarasa in Uttar Pradesh has led to a pointed question: “If this can happen to Muslims in UP, will it not repeat elsewhere?”
