Mangaluru: Hindu Mahasabha activist held for attempt to disrupt peace

Mangaluru, Dec 23:  The city police arrested a youth for for allegedly attempting to disturb peace during the inauguration of Karavali Utsav.

The miscreant has been identified as Litesh Jogi (26), a member of the Hindu Mahasabha.

A large number of police personnel were posted for the inaugural function following threats to actor Prakash Raj on Facebook.

According to the Barke police, Jogi was caught coming to the programme venue with a bag containing eggs and a person was calling Jogi asking whether “the work was done”. 

The police said Jogi was arrested for an offence under Section 153 of the IPC. They are on the lookout for potential associates.

Well done police. This trouble maker should be screwed up and police should obtain all the details about the organisation and financers behind him.  He is definately a jobless guy and is hired by anti social sangh parivar.  Police should do more investigation as he may be involved in many more issues like this and find out the real person who has hired him and made his brain wash in the name of religion.

Good action by the administration police must take strict action against such organization and with their members.At Karnataka specially in South Kanara dept must seize their funding. These are job less crooks plating with the power of money. They not bother about our society and Nation.

Bengaluru, June 23: A head constable from Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) committed suicide on board a bus after testing positive for COVID-19 in the city.

As per sources, the 50-year-old head constable had tested positive for coronavirus last evening and today he was being taken to a hospital in KSRP bus.

It is learned that he hanged himself to death inside the bus as there was no one else.

Mangaluru, Jan 27: JD(S) leader and former Labour Minister K Amarnath Shetty passed away at a private hospital in Mangaluru on Monday morning. He was 80. Shetty was unwell for sometime, and was admitted to the hospital a few days ago, family sources said.

Amarnath Shetty, a trustee of Alva's Education Foundation (AEF), had joined politics in 1965.

He became the president of Paladka Gram Panchayat and soon was elected as MLA from Moodbdri constituency in 1983. He won the successive elections held in the same constituency in 1987 and 1994. He had served as Tourism and later as Labour Minister.

Bengaluru, Mar 26: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Working President Eshwara Khandre on Thursday suggested to the State government to utilize the infrastructure available at the International Exhibition Centre on the outskirts of the City on Tumakuru Road near Nelamangala, about 15 km from here, for quarantine and treatment of people affected with the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. 

In a statement here today, Mr Khandre said that the dreaded disease is spreading like wildfire and according to experts the figure may touch one Lakh in the State. 

Hence there is necessary to have adequate infrastructure found well in advance and utlise if necessity arises. The Center is built on a 57-acre land and there are sufficient space available and since it is on the outskirts of the city there is no threat of the virus spreading to the Bengaluru City.
