Managluru, Aug 26: A 35-year-old autorickshaw driver was rewarded by the Mangaluru City Police on Saturday for returning a bag of gold jewellery that a woman had accidentally left behind in his vehicle.

Deepti, wife of Prashant, a software engineer in Bengaluru came to Mangaluru this morning. After alighting at KSRTC bus stand, she hired an auto-rickshaw and travelled to Kulai neighbourhood to attend a wedding ceremony.

Deepti had kept one of her bags in the space behind the auto's seat. It contained gold ornaments worth Rs 5 lakh. While alighting, she forgot about the bag and the auto left.

Later, the passenger realised her folly and started to weep. She lost all hope of recovering the money as he hadn't noted the vehicle number.

But she was in for a surprise. She received a call from a police officer after couple of hours. The caller asked her to collect her bag from the officer of Mangaluru City Police Commissioner.

In fact the auto-rickshaw driver, Pratap Shetty, had noticed the abandoned bag of valuables after returning from Kulai and handed it over to Mangaluru North Police Station. He is the son of Jayaram Shetty, a resident of Jeppu Kudupady in Mangaluru.

The Police Commissioner M Chandra Sekhar invited Mr Shetty to his office and gifted him Rs 5,000 with an appreciation.

"We decided to reward this honest man so that it serves as an incentive to other auto drivers to return baggage forgotten by their passengers," said a senior cop.

Good deeds will not go wasted.. you will be rewarded by the one who Created for your honesty...
ISLAM says when we die only our DEEDs will be with us (Wealth, Property, Family or Friends will NOT accompany us) and upon our deeds we will be granted Heaven or Hell which is ETERNAL...
Do more Good deeds and be successful in the eyes of God...

If someone have more evil... Dont be sad , God is most merciful. Just repent honestly and promise never to commit again and live a good life with more good deeds.. God likes honest repentance... God know what's in your heart and He will judge with justice.

Recognise the TRUE God, U will be blessed.

Bengaluru, Jun 20: Continuing with the easing of restrictions under 'Unlock 1.0', the Karnataka government on Saturday authorised local bodies to fix timing for opening of public parks other than those in the containment zones between 5 am to 9 pm.

It has also mandated adhering to all the national directives issued to contain the spread of COVID-19 and the guidelines issued by the state government in this connection.

Noting that the government has been relaxing conditions under unlock 1.0, Principal Secretary Revenue N Manjunath Prasad, who is also the member secretary of the state disaster management authority in an order said, local bodies have been asked to set the timing between 5 am to 9 pm to open all parks that come under them and the government.

It said this would be applicable to only those parks that come outside the containment zones. Earlier in May, while relaxing the lockdown norms, the government had set 7 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm for the opening of parks.

Bengaluru, Jan 24: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday said the much-delayed Cabinet expansion will take place in the next three days.

At the Kempegowda International Airport, after his arrival from Davos, he informed that he would discuss the matter with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take a final decision on the distribution of important portfolios.

Deputy CM Ashwanath Narayna, Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai and others received the Chief Minister at the airport. The issue of Cabinet expansion was kept in abeyance, ever since the spectacular victory of 12 Assembly seats for BJP, for which the by-elections were held recently. The bypolls were necessitated, following the resignation of about 17 sitting Congress and JD (S) MLAs, which resulted in the collapse of the JDS-Congress coalition government in the state.

BJP had reportedly lured the Congress and JD (S) MLAs into their camp, after promising them to give party ticket to contest the elections, as well as ministerial berths. The Chief Minister had kept as many as 16 Cabinet berths, along with plum portfolios, vacant, after forming the BJP government, with the support of the deserted Congress and JD (S) MLAs, in July last. However, the issue of Cabinet expansion had postponed on one reason or the other, as Yediyurappa was struggling to keep the promise he had made to the former Congress and the JDS MLAs, on whose sacrifice the BJP came back to power.

With the strong demand for ministerial berths within the loyal BJP MLAs, the BJP high command had reportedly advised Yediyurappa to accommodate only a few of the turncoat MLAs and strike balance between the groups.

However, Yediyurappa, who had assured the Congress and JD (S) MLAs of giving them Cabinet berths, had been in dilemma ever since and found it tough to convince the party's Central leaders.

According to party sources, the Chief Minister is not only facing problems over the expansion of his Cabinet, but is also worried over the demand for creation of more number of Deputy Chief Ministers, adding to the present list of three.

Bengaluru, Apr 11: Karnataka Congress chief D K Shivakumar on Saturda said that he was hopeful that the Karnataka Chief Minister would take stern action against BJP MLA M Jayaram--who was on Friday seen celebrating his birthday with several villagers in Gubbi taluk in Tumkur, in violation of social isolation measures and nationwide lockdown to fight the coronavirus outbreak.

"I am sure that the Chief Minister will take action on all these types of activities. We have already petitioned the DGP. Suo moto case should be registered immediately," the Karnataka Congress Chief told media.

Speaking about the video conference meeting that Congress President Sonia Gandhi held with all Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) presidents via video conference, he said: "She has given us directions that the party has to play its own role. She said that the party needs to be very active, apart from the government."

With regards to the farmer's struggles due to the national lockdown, the Karnataka Congress Chief said that the farmers are in a 'very grim situation'. "I appeal to all the people of Karnataka that we should go to the fields and discuss with farmers and buy the materials. Let us purchase their fruits and vegetables and distribute them at the village level."
