Mangaluru: II PU science student found hanging in Thokkottu

Mangaluru, Aug 22: In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide under mysterious circumstances at his residence in Thokkottu in Mangaluru taluk on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Shifan, who was a II PU science student at St Sebastian Pre University College, Permannur near Thokkottu.

His family members told police that he was found hanging from a ceiling fan on Monday afternoon. The reason for the suicide is yet to be known.

Ullal police have registered a case and investigations are on.

very coward act.....wats d point in educating such coward individuals who cant face life challenges at such young age....?????

Mangaluru, Mar14 (UNI) In view of prevailing Global situation, Coast Guard Karnataka took initiatives for creating awareness among the CG Personnel, Civilian Staff and Families on precautions so that the contagious Coronavirus be prevented.

For the benefit of CG personnel posters have been displayed at entrance and prominent places in office premises and residential areas including the CG KG School.

All CG Personnel and their families were advised to frequently wash their hands with sanitiser or soap and water at regular intervals. They are also requested to cover their nose and mouth with handkerchief or tissue while coughing or sneezing. It is advised to consult doctor if there is fever, difficulty in breathing, coughing, all being symptoms of Corona Virus.

Mysuru, Feb 26: Twenty-nine students of the Government Primary School fell sick after consuming milk supplied at the school on Wednesday morning at Kiranguru village, in Hanagodu hobli, in the hunsur taluk in the district.

Police said the students were immediately rushed to the primary health centre in Hanagodu and provided first aid.

Tahsildar and Police personnel visited the health centre and inquired about the health of the students. "All the students are responding to the treatment," sources said.

Bengaluru, Jun 17: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has directed Minorities Department officials to take steps for tabling the Karnataka Lokayukta report on alleged irregularities in wakf properties in Karnataka, during the next session of the State legislature.

Following the Anwar Manipaddi report on alleged irregularities in wakf properties, the Lokayukta conducted the probe. The Siddaramaiah government rejected both the Anwar Manipaddi report and the Lokayukta report.

The Chief Minister issued the directions to officials during a review of the department works on Tuesday, said an official press release. The Lokayukta reportedly named several Congress leaders and senior officers in the scam.

The Lokayukta conducted the probe and submitted the report containing 15 volumes to the State government during the Siddaramaiah government’s tenure.
