Mangaluru, Aug 12: A local court has sentenced 37-year-old man from Sullia taluk of Dakshina Kannada district to one year’s imprisonment for posting intimate photos of a woman on a social networking site.

According to the chargesheet of the Subramanya police, Kusumadhara met a 25-year-old woman of his village at a relative’s marriage. On April 14, 2013, Kusumadhara reportedly found out where she lived.

The VI Additional District and Sessions Judge D.T. Puttarangaswamy on Friday sentenced Kusumadhara to six months imprisonment for the offence under Section 292 (a) and imposed fine of Rs. 2,000.

He was sentenced to undergo one year’s imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs. 10,000 for offence under Section 67 (A) of the IT Act. Both the sentences will run concurrently, the judge noted.
