Mangaluru: S.C.S College of Nursing Sciences holds Graduation Ceremony - 2019

Mangaluru, Mar 26: The graduation ceremony of S.C.S College of Nursing Sciences, was held today at St.Sebastian Platinum Jubliee Hall, Bendoor, Mangaluru. The programme began with an invocation song followed by lighting the lamp by dignitaries on the dais.

The chief guest of the function Sr. Janet D’souza, Chief Nursing Officer, Father Muller Medical College, Hospital, Mangaluru, addressed the graduates to render Nursing care with love and compassion. She highlighted the importance of head, heart and hands in Nursing. 

Dr. Abhinay Sorake, was the presiding officer of the programme. Mrs. Swetha Kiran, Associate Professor, welcomed the gathering. Prof. Mrs. Lolita S.M. D’souza, Principal, administered the oath to the graduates and presented the annual report of the college. Mr. U.K. Khalid, Administrative Officer, Mr. Anil Kumar C.M, Vice Principal, were present on the occasion.

The Silver Jubilee Logo of the College of Nursing was unveiled on this occasion. Mrs Leena .M. Castelino, Associate Professor, highlighted the significance of the components of the logo.Mrs. Bibi Augustin, Associate Professor, compered the programme. Ms Amitha, Lecturer, delivered the vote of thanks. The cultural events were performed by the nursing students of the college.

New Delhi, Feb 12: Senior Karnataka BJP leader Umesh Katti, who has been left out of the latest cabinet expansion, on Wednesday met party president Jagat Prakash Nadda over the issue.

On Tuesday, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa allotted portfolios to 10 newly inducted ministers. The leader was sulking after he was left out from the cabinet.

According to sources, Katti urged JP Nadda to consider his seniority in the party and give him a ministerial berth.

Earlier, Yeddyurappa had announced that Umesh Katti would be given a place in the state cabinet, but his name was dropped from the list of ministers at the last moment.

According to sources, Umesh Katti also urged Nadda for a Rajya Sabha berth for his brother Ramesh Katti.

Mangaluru, Mar 23: As many as 600 people who arrived from foreign countries are under the surveillance of the district police in the Dakshina Kannada, as a measure to contain the spread of Covid-19, said Superintendent of Police B M Laxmi Prasad on Monday.

The police personnel are visiting their houses in Dakshina Kannada police jurisdiction. They have been asked to remain quarantined at home for 14 days."We have appealed to the local residents to tip the police if they violate the quarantine period,"he added.

Udupi, Jun 1: As many as 73 people have been tested positive for coronavirus in Udupi district today.

The district has registered a total of 260 positive cases so far. Majority of the positive cases in Udupi district have inter-state travel history to Maharashtra.
