Mangaluru, May 3: The Kankanady Police have arrested a youth said to be involved in seven cases of theft, including two reported in Advaith JCB and United Toyota showrooms in Padil a few days ago.
The accused has been identified as Prasad Poojary (23), son of Late Gopal Poojary, a resident of Hosabettu near Moodbidri in Dakshina Kannada district.
The police said that Poojary had entered the two showrooms and had made away with a cash locker, laptops and a few other gadgets.
A few days before he struck at the two showrooms, Poojary had broken open the door of a house in the Railway Residential Quarters near Mangaluru Junction Railway Station and made away with some gold ornaments.
The police arrested Poojary from a hideout in the Kankanady Police limits. The police recovered three laptops, four Tabs, three mobile phones, two gold bangles, the cash locker, a camera and articles he used to commit theft.
