This was revealed by P S Mohammed, managing director, Ecologic Habitats at a press meet here on Thursday November 19.

The Mangaluru-based real estate development firm 'Ecologic Habitats' is all set to revolutionize the idea of traveling on the Indian highways with the concept of transit oriented development. Transit- one is strategically located on NH-66, Thokottu, the southern gateway to Mangaluru city.

Addressing the press meet, P S Mohammed said, "The idea is to maximize the shopping access to public and private transport along this busy freeway that connects Kerala to Mangaluru, Goa, Mumbai and so on. Transit One also caters to the Thokottu region, a fast growing suburb with numerous educational institutes and IT firms. The tagline 'Stop. Recharge. Restart' sums up the transit situated on 40 cents of land with 50,000 sq ft area of plush shopping experience. It addresses the need of the hour for towns like Thokottu, which otherwise would have to depend on nearby Mangaluru city to meet their routine shopping and recreational requirements.

"Transit One offers a wide range of products right from affordable mini boutique stores to large drive in supermarkets, restaurants, food courts, social clubs, thus catering to all sections of the society. The external facade also has a large electronic display screen where one can showcase their ideas and brands. Promoters of the project envision Transit One to be a 'Small world of large happiness'," he added.

"The visitors step into the level 1 by strolling across the external landscaped plaza, where they are welcomed by their favourite branded stores. Level 2 is the urban fashionista's delight where a wide range of trendy apparel accessories catch your eye. Level 3 is what the Ecologic says is the modem version of the 'Old Indian Bazaar', where the local entrepreneurial spirit is at full display at the smaller boutique stores. Level 4 offers an extensive variety of culinary options with the perfect ambience," he explained.

"Ecologic Habitats boasts of raking in the services of the best in industry to design and implement the project. Well-landscaped environs is what we believe is at the core of our product portfolio. Services of a leading Bengaluru-based landscape architect has been sought to breathe in green into the entire shopping experience. At Ecologic Habitats it is our commitment to add value to all our buildings by breathing green into them. We aspire to partner with a like-minded set of discernible clientele, so that it can add value to their investments by consistently delivering products that inspire," P S Mohammed said.

Bengaluru, May 6: More than a month after international flights have been barred, Karnataka government is preparing to quarantine all 10,823 of the state''s people poised to return home from overseas amid the Covid pandemic, an official said on Tuesday.

"The state has planned to quarantine all 10,823 passengers coming back to Karnataka. The quarantine guidelines framed as below would be applicable," said Health Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey in a statement.

According to the Government of India, 10,823 Karnataka residents have been stranded abroad by April 30, comprising 4,408 tourists, 3,074 students, 2,784 migrants and professionals and 557 ship crew.

Out of the 10,823 people, the state government is expecting 6,100 to return early as the government has decided to allow Indians stuck abroad to return.

"All the passengers arriving at points of entry (airports and seaports) will be compulsorily screened for symptoms of Covid-19," said Pandey.

Point of entry screening will include self-reporting form verification, thermal screening, pulse oximeter reading, briefing with instructions, categorisation, stamping for some and downloading of Aarogya Setu, Quarantine Watch and Apthamitra apps.

Arriving passengers are also required to declare existing comorbidities such hypertension, diabetes, asthma or any lung disease, organ transplantations, cancer, tuberculosis and other ailments.

Passengers will be categorised into three groups: Category A (symptomatic on arrival), Category B (asymptomatic with co-morbidity or aged above 60 years) and Category C (rest of asymptomatic passengers).

Depending on the category into which the people fall, their quarantine place and time will be determined.

Category A arrivals will be subjected to institutional quarantine for a fortnight, Category B one week quarantine at a hotel or hostel, followed by another week at home, and Category C home quarantine for a fortnight.

Karnataka government is making elaborate arrangements and logistical means, deploying healthcare, police and several other departments into action to handle the huge influx of Kannadigas and state residents.

Pandey has issued a 21-page elaborate standard operating procedure (SOP) guidelines on how to face the international returnees.

Bengaluru, Jun 23: Karnataka Congress leader and Kanakapura MLA DK Shivakumar said on Monday that in the wake of coronavirus pandemic, people of his assembly constituency have taken a unanimous decision of remaining under voluntary lockdown until July 1.

The decision was taken after he headed a meeting at Kanakapura on Sunday, at the office of Kanakapura Municipality.

"Let us consider the situation after July 1, hold a similar meeting, and take the next decision. It has nothing to do with the state government's mandate. It came to the conclusion that this was a decision that we all voluntarily took," said DK Shivakumar.

DK Shivakumar informed that the merchants have agreed to sell groceries, fruits, vegetables, fennel, meat and other food items from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. only. District authorities, DCs, SPs and hospital representatives have decided the timings of clinics and drug stores.

He further said, "In this self-motivated lockdown, unnecessary driving should be avoided. The social gap must be maintained. No one should be oppressed by anyone."

Member of Parliament DK Suresh, Ravi - Ramanagara District Collector Archana, SP Anoop Shetty, and Kanakapura Planning Authority Chairman Jagannath were also present in the meeting.
