Mangaluru’s Joyce Rego makes it to Mrs India Earth finals

Dubai, Sept 18: Joyce Rego, a semi government employee and mother of 2 kids is ready to walk the ramp with other 47 contestants. Joyce is residing in UAE past 12 years and is chosen as one of the finalist from Dubai - UAE. 48 contestants will compete with each other for different titles in this upcoming pageant. Final round of this contest will be held at New Delhi on October 6.

Joyce Rego is daughter of John Gudinho and Christine Gudinho residing in Jyoti Nagar, Paldane, Mangaluru. She is married to John Rego from Nagercoil, who is currently working in Dubai. Joyce is blessed with 2 kids - Joylin Rego 7 years and Jonathan Rego 3.5 years.

The ordinary woman Joyce Rego had only dreamt about helping the underprivileged families/children and has now got a platform to work on her dream project. Any underprivileged family can change their life thru right education, says Joyce. Joyce is also working on her dream project which will help the poor parents give their children the best quality education which will in return help them change their life.

Bengaluru, Aug 5: The Janata Dal (Secular) will contest all the 243 assembly seats in Bihar, the elections for which are due in October-November this year, its state unit chief Haldhar Kant Mishra announced on Tuesday.

Mishra said party supremo Deve Gowda has asked him to expand JD(S)'s base and also to prepare itself for contesting all the constituencies in view of the zeal and enthusiasm shown by party workers and office-bearers.

Deve Gowda announced the decision during a virtual meeting with presidents of party's various cells and office- bearers, he said.

He assured that the party will provide all kinds of support for its expansion and selection of candidates for the Bihar polls, Mishra said.

The former prime minister told the party functionaries that several leaders from Bihar are in touch with him and they will join the JD(S) to play their part in the elections, he added.

Mangaluru, Apr 15: For the convenience of the public during the lockdown period, the Department of Posts has been providing essential services to the public at its various branch offices which are functioning from 1000 hrs to 1400 hrs.

Medicines and other essential items can be sent via parcel from any town to any place in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

Arrangements are also being made to extend this facility to nearby districts. In case of sending medicines and other essentials to other states from Mangaluru, the transportation has to be done via Bengaluru and can be expedited if a request for urgency is made, says a press release from the Senior Superintendent of Posts of Mangaluru Division on Wednesday.

Udupi, May 21: In a shocking development, as many as 27 fresh coronavirus positive cases were reported in the coastal district of Udupi today. 

Another shocker is, 16 among 27 covid-19 patients are children. The rest are six men and five women. 

Interestingly, all of them have inter-state travel history. 23 had come from Maharashtra and 3 from Telangana. Another one had come from Kerala to Manipal. More details are awaited.
