Many Cong, JD(S) MLAs skip legislative party meeting?

Bengaluru, May 16: A few MLAs are reportedly missing from the legislative party meeting that is ongoing at the Congress headquarters on Queens Road in Bengaluru. 

The missing Congress MLAs are: Anand Singh, Nagendra, Bhimanayak, Ganesh Hukkeri, Yashwanthrayagouda Patil, Tukaram, Mahantesh Kaujalagi, Satish Jarakiholi and Ramesh Jarakiholi.

On the other hand a senior Janata Dal (Secular) leader revealed that only 32 of the 37 JD(S) MLAs have reached the party’s legislative meeting in Bengaluru. 

The party was waiting for five of its MLAs to reach the Shangri-La Hotel in Bengaluru’s Vasanthnagar neighbourhood. He, however, insisted that the missing leaders were on their way to the hotel for the party's meeting.

BJP has plenty of  looted tax payers money in hand. i am sure horse trading going on between the missing MLA's These greedy leaders are only after money and power.

Those MLAs are  elected from the party ticket  and they should not have individual power to submit approval. 

It is the right of the party to whom they belong.

 

Such shameless candidates should be severly punished by the elected people so that no horse trading can happen.

Mangaluru, April 3: A police officer in Sullia town of Dakshina Kannada district got injured on Friday after unidentified youth pelted stones at him.

The incident took place when the cop stopped them from entering into the state from Kerala in the view of nationwide lockdown. He was later administered medical aid.

Bengaluru, Jun 27: Marijuana or ganja as it is known locally, has emerged as the most peddled and seized drug in Karnataka in the first six months of 2020, a police officer has said, commemorating the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

"As many as 510 ganja cases have been registered, leading to the seizure of 312 kg of ganja in 2020," Central Crime Branch (CCB) Deputy Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Jain told media perrsons on Friday.

Cases and seizures of other drugs paled in comparison to Marijuana. Only one case each has been registered on Brown Sugar, Opium and other drug forms.

Hashish was the only other seized narcotic which weighed more than a kg at 17 kg, rest all were under a kg.

Other banned substances included charas, cocaine and MDMA.

Police also seized 91 papers of LSD and 550 tablets belonging to the Yaba, Restyl, Anxit and Nitrosun category of drugs.

Similarly, 781 Indians and 14 foreigners have been arrested in the drugs cases.

Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Director General of Police Praveen Sood and Bengaluru Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao were among the officials who commemorated the event which recognised police staff who cracked drug cases.

"Bommai reaffirmed the pledge to fight against drugs and continue the policy of zero tolerance (of drug abuse)," Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil said.

Police showcased the seized haul of drugs to Bommai in the past one year, and the minister later rewarded the policemen involved in cracking the drugs cases in Karnataka.

Bommai and the police officials took a pledge to fight drugs on the occasion.

"The Karnataka police has been taking strict action against the drug peddlers while at the same time creating awareness among youth," added JCP Sandeep Patil.

Police also roped in celebrities such as Milana Nagaraj, Darling Krishna and former cricketer Anil Kumble to send across a social message to give up drugs.

Udupi, Aug 1: A young rider lost his life after a head-on collision between a scooter and a car on K G Road in Udupi last evening.

The deceased has been identified as Praveen Ganiga (24), a resident of Kodavoor in Malpe.

According to police Praveen was riding his scooter on the wrong side of the road. The car was plying from Brahmavar to Udupi.

The people on board car suffered minor injuries in the mishap. A case was registered at Brahmavar police station and investigations are on.
