Many hospitalised after drinking contaminated water in Karnataka

Kalaburagi, June 11: As many as 36 people from Gudur S A Tanda in Jewargi taluk fell ill after they drank contaminated water from bore well and were admitted to hospital on Tuesday.

According to Hospital sources, more than 36 people were admitted to Jewrgi government hospital and some were treated as outpatients. The victims started vomiting and diarrohea on Monday night and were taken to the Hospital and Primary Health Centre in Jewargi.

The District Health Department officials, who visited the Hospital, said that the contaminated bore water in the Tanda was the main reason for the incident. Poorly designed septic tank, soak pits and open pit latrines were the major water contaminated source in the village Tanda.

Puttur, Jan 4: As many as 27 passengers travelling in a private bus escaped with minor injuries after it toppled and fell into a roadside trench at Amai near Perne on Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway last night, police said on Saturday.

Police said that the driver of the Bengaluru-bond bus lost control over the vehicle while traversing through the narrow bridge at Amai.

The bus was damaged in the mishap.

this is one of the important case that now seen to be increasing these days.  and one of the most problem that is faced and had has to be found a solution is overspeeding by bus driving which have resulted in enomours numbers of accidents with negligence of passengers lifes inside the bus.  passengers safety and lifes are not given value anymore. and another important factor is overspeeding in humps  which have resulted in backbone injuries in high number of passengers

Bengaluru, Aug 5: A red alert has been issued in several districts in Karnataka due to heavy rainfall in the state since last two-three days, the India Meteorological Department said on Wednesday.

"Red alert has been announced in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Chickamagalur, Shivamogga, Kodagu and Hassan, due to heavy rainfall in the region from last two-three days," CS Patil, Director, India Meteorological Department (IMD) Bengaluru said.

Bhopal, Mar 10: Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Tuesday parried questions on the exact number of MLAs supporting the party in Madhya Pradesh amid a political crisis triggered by the resignation of Jyotiraditya Scindia and 14 MLAs loyal to him.

Repeating his allegation that the BJP was trying to destabilise the Congress-led government, Singh told reporters that the BJP had arranged three chartered planes for Bengaluru on Monday to fly out some MLAs loyal to Scindia.

"We want to know why Bengaluru is used every time to destabilise governments?" he questioned.

When asked about the number of MLAs supporting the Congress in the current political scenario, Singh only said, "Just wait".

He said an atmosphere of uneasiness has been prevailing in the BJP since the Kamal Nath government started cracking a whip on various mafias.

"We (the state government) are exposing Vyapam scam, e-tendering scam, Madhyam scam. In the honey-trap case, BJP men were found to be involved. This will be exposed," he said.

The political crisis in Madhya Pradesh precipitated with the resignation of Jyotiraditya Scindia over his apparent marginalisation in the state politics. Following Scindia's suit, 14 legislators loyal to him have sent their resignation letters via e-mail to Madhya Pradesh Raj Bhavan.

Scindia was subsequently expelled from the Congress by party president Sonia Gandhi.

Speculation that the Guna royal might join the BJP gained ground after he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi this morning.
