Bengaluru, Aug 28: A nine-year-old girl, said to be speech impaired, was killed by her mentally unsound mother who pushed her twice from the third floor of their rented house at Jaraganahalli near JP Nagar on Sunday afternoon.

The victim is identified as Sherya. Police said that the mother, Swathi, is a native of West Bengal. She is said to be mentally ill.

The incident took place at around 3.30 pm. Swathi and her husband Sarkar were staying on the third floor of the residential building, along with their only daughter Shreya.
