Katihar, Feb 4: Days after an obscene tweet with a morphed picture of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was posted on the social media platform, police said on Monday the accused person has been arrested and sent to jail.

Yogi Surajnath, a resident of this north Bihar town who describes himself as a 'bhakt' (devotee) of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the social media, was arrested from his residence in Binodpur locality, Town police station SHO Ranjan Kumar said.

While Surajnath is said to be an avid follower of the 'BJP's Mission 2019' on Twitter, BJP's district president Manoj Rai asserted this person has no association with the party.

Kumar said the Bihar police cyber cell had received an emailed complaint from social activist Shahin Sayyad about Surajnath's tweet of January 30 that carried a morphed image of Vadra, who was recently appointed the Congress party's general secretary for east Uttar Pradesh by her brother and the party president, Rahul Gandhi.

The SHO said the cyber cell traced Surajnath's location to Katihar, after which the district police arrested him and a case has been filed against him.

He was subsequently produced before court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate here, which remanded him to judicial custody.

Let this hate monger worship his Master in jail for years.   Its strange that whenever any of its members are caught red handed for any wrong doing, bjp immediately says that he is not a member of bjp.  What a shame.  Till its members do wrong things without notice they are good members and if caught for wrong doing they are not members.  This is a lesson to these members who trust bjp leaders.  Please remember that bjp leaders are using you for political gain only and none will help you if got arrested.   they will use you to create probloems in society, rioting, molesing, setting fire to private _+_ Govt properties, lynching, murder etc etc but they will keep themselves away from you once yu are caught.   None of the family members of these bjp leaders is in front during riot and disturbance.  They will ask yu to lead the disturbance and keep themself in their homes.   You will be the one to suffer later.  Hence,. please take care of yourself and dont trust bjp leaders who are misusing you.  In this case, Yogi Surajnath is an active member of bjp and was asked to post wrong comments about Priyanka Gandhi.   At the end, bjp is not ready to accept him as their member.  Dear Surajnath, now you will suffer and none will help you.

Jun 3: Emphasising that airlines are clearly the safest mode of transportation, IndiGo CEO Ronojoy Dutta on Tuesday said there is no evidence yet of coronavirus infection getting transmitted among passengers onboard an aeroplane.

His comments against the backdrop of instances of some passengers, who had taken flights after resumption of domestic air services on May 25, testing positive for coronavirus.

"Those people had the virus before they got on to the aeroplane. What is noteworthy is that they have done the tracing after that. There is no evidence of transmission onboard there... that is a very encouraging sign on the safety of airline travel," he said during an earnings call.

According to him, airlines are clearly the safest mode of transportation and there is no evidence yet of contamination on an aircraft.

"You can come in contaminated but so far there is no evidence of passing it on to a fellow passenger," he noted.

Amid concerns over the coronavirus pandemic, aviation regulator DGCA has asked airlines to ensure that to the extent possible, middle seat in flights should be kept empty.

In this regard, Dutta said the airline would keep the middle seat empty wherever it can and "where we have to fill the middle seat, we will have the extra protective gown".

To a query about possible hedging of fuel prices, he said it would be a dumb idea and that airlines adjust to ups and downs in fuel prices.

"I can't overemphasise what a dumb idea it will be for an airline to hedge fuel prices. I looked at it from different angles and it is not a good idea... we looked at hedging and we talked about it at the board level and we said no," he noted.

After the hanging at 5:30 am today, the bodies were taken from Tihar Jail to Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital for post mortem at around 8:20 am.

Tihar jail Director-General Sandeep Goel said that the bodies will be handed over to the families after the post mortem.

The families, however, will have to give a written undertaking that they will not make a public demonstration of the cremation or burial of the executed person.

The superintendent will also consult the District Magistrate and the Deputy Commissioner of Police for arrangements for the disposal of the body.

The post mortem comes in line with the Supreme Court's order in Shatrughan Chauhan's case in January 2014, which had mandated the same observing that there is a dearth of experienced hangman in the country.

"By making the performance of post mortem obligatory, the cause of the death of the convict can be found out, which will reveal whether the person died as a result of the dislocation of the cervical vertebrate or by strangulation which results on account of too long a drop," the apex court had said in its order.

"Our constitution permits the execution of death sentence only through the procedure established by law and this procedure must be just, fair and reasonable," the order added.

All four convicts in the 2012 Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case -- Akshay Singh Thakur, Pawan Gupta, Vinay Sharma, and Mukesh Singh -- were hanged till death at 5:30 am this morning.

The case pertains to the brutal gang-rape and killing of a 23-year-old paramedical student in a moving bus on the night of December 16, 2012, by six people including a juvenile in the national capital. The woman had died at a Singapore hospital a few days later.

One of the adults accused had allegedly committed suicide in the prison during the trial, while the juvenile was released from a correction home after a period of three years.
