Raichur, Feb 12: AICC President Rahul Gandhi, on Monday, exhorted Prime Minister of India at least to learn from Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who has implemented several pro-poor, pro-farmer welfare programs.
He was addressing a rally of scheduled tribes as part of his Janashirvada Yatra at Devedurga in Raichur district.
"Congress has set up Indira canteens in the state to feed the hungry. If the BJP is pro-poor let them open canteens all over the country," Rahul said.
While Modi has not kept his promise of creating two crore jobs a year, Siddaramaiah has created jobs for the unemployed, Rahul said defending the CM.
The AICC chief added that Siddaramaiah has earmarked Rs 27,700 crore for SC/STs in the state. While, the centre has earmarked just Rs 54 crore for SC/ST in the entire country.
