Addressing the protesters in front of DC office, MLC?Motamma questioned the double standards' of Prime Minister?Narendra Modi who kept mum during a series of attacks on Dalits and others in the garb of cow vigilantes were reported in the country and spoke only after Dalits boycotted BJP rallies in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh.

Ms. Motamma said members of groups such as Bajrang Dal and Hindu Jagran Vedike were continuing with their attacks on Dalits in Karnataka and other parts of the country.

She said that instead of showing “lip sympathy,” Mr Modi should take action to help Dalits solve their economic and social troubles.

Referring to the recent incident at Shantipura in Chikkamagaluru district, where a youth was roughed up for bringing beef, that led to disfiguring of his hands and legs, Motamma called the attackers inhuman. Going a step ahead, she also described the right wing activists as man-eaters', who are under the illusion that they are the only protectors of cows.

All India Congress Committee member P.V. Mohan said Mr. Modi was speaking against attacks on Dalits to get more votes in the forthcoming Assembly elections in UP. “It is no surprise to hear the PM speak against attacks on Dalits. He is aware that they form a big vote base,” he said.

Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo called on the party workers to instil confidence in the minds of Dalits, by visiting their colonies. The Dalits are a traumatised lot now, living under constant fear, he added.

Earlier a rally was taken out from Town Hall to the deputy commissioners office. Chief Whip in the Legislative Council Ivan D'Souza, Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Chairman Ibrahim Kodijal – who is also the acting president of Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee – and others were present.

Only Mischievous does not want to understand this crocodile cry from Modi. if they understand their jobs of looting, hitting innocent, raping and other evil acts will be lost...
Fear the one who created U and me and all that exists... He has given life and he will account our deeds and will judge with justice.
Dont think U will get away with it.
Sudar jao... RSS will not come to rescue you when angel of death comes with all the evil deeds...
God is all forgiving .. He forgives every sin except associating partners with him... So ask forgiveness and repent and promise to never commit mischief to others again... God forgive every sincere repentance... God is great.

Bengaluru, Jan 2: Former chief ministers of Karnataka Siddaramaiah and H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he embarked on a two-day visit to the state attend events in Tumakuru and Bengaluru. In a series of tweets, the Congress and the JD(S) leaders took a dig at Modi for his alleged failure on various fronts.

"You did not visit Karnataka when it was devastated by floods, you did not visit Karnataka when our farmers cried for help, but all of a sudden, when you want to launch your political propaganda, you remember the innocent people of Karnataka. Wah Modi Wah!!" Siddaramaiah tweeted.

In another tweet, the Congress leader claimed Karnataka is starved of Central government funds as there were no adequate flood relief, no GST revenue loss compensation and there was a delay in the transfer of grant-in-aid.

He further said, "Before attempting to fool our people, let the people of Karnataka know when they will get their due share!" He also sought to know from Modi why the 25 MPs from Karnataka have 'turned off' their engines.

"With 25 MPs from BJP and a state government with BJP, people hoped for a double engine. Instead, all BJP representatives have turned off their engines and have become sycophants to play a tune to your idiosyncrasies. Why, are they scared of you?" Siddaramaiah said.

Seeking an explanation on various incomplete projects, the Congress leader said, "Mr Narendra Modi, people are fed up of your lies and double-edged sword comments. We want your answer today about long-standing questions on: Kalasa Banduri Yojana, Belagavi border issue, exams in Kannada, Tulu & Kodava in 8th schedule, the list goes on." Kumaraswamy too minced no words as he went on the offensive against the Centre.

In his tweets quoting newspaper reports, he said Karnataka's coffer has dried up, financial position is in doldrums and the revenue has plummeted.

"What's the reason (behind poor economic situation)? The poor economic policies of the Centre. After swallowing the GDP and development of the country, the wrong policies have affected the state too," alleged Kumaraswamy.

Quoting reports, Kumaraswamy said the Centre has denied the state's share of revenue.

"About 5.44 per cent of state's share is yet to come from the Centre. This is step-motherly attitude of the Centre towards the state," Kumaraswamy tweeted.

Mangaluru, Mar 10: Tension prevailed in the city after an international flyer quarantined at the District Wenlock Hospital walked out of the facility.

The passenger, with a recent travel history to high-risk countries, refused to cooperate with health officials. The day-long drama ended when the district administration intervened and the flyer agreed to get himself re-admitted.

Deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh said the passenger had fever and was sent to an isolation ward. “The passenger is cooperating with the treatment and samples have been collected for testing,” she said. The samples will be sent to a testing centre in Bengaluru.

Sources told  that rude behaviour by staff at Mangalore International Airport may have angered the passenger and he walked out of the quarantine facility.

She said if passengers show reluctance to be screened, they should first be counselled and allowed to get themselves admitted to a hospital of their choice with quarantine facility. If they still refuse to cooperate, they will have to be hospitalised forcefully, she added.
