Moodbidri techie Deepak Shetty wins ‘Mr South India’, ready for films

Mangaluru, Feb 5: Coastal Karnataka has produced a lot of young promising talents to shine in the glitzy glamour world. Young promising talent Deepak Shetty, hailing from Moodbidri in Dakshina Kannada district adds to the list. Deepak has emerged as the winner of ‘Mr South India 2018’ and also achieved success in the modelling arena.

Deepak Shetty is the son of Vittal and Gulabi Shetty. Along with studies, young Deepak was inclined towards extra-curriculum activities, though he never expected to enter the fashion modeling industry.

As a civil engineering graduate from SNMP Mahaveera College at Moodbidri, he had been to Dubai in search of job. Working as project engineer at Naaf Interiors, he watched some modelling videos, which compelled him to enter the field. He tasted success with ‘Mr Bunt UAE 2015’ where he emerged the winner. Deepak was in the top 10 in ‘Mr Dubai 2016’ and won the title at ‘Mr Bengaluru 2017’ along with the title of ‘Popular Face in Bengaluru’. He has been selected for the Mr India contest which will be held in March 2018. We wish him for his success

His achievement so far: Mr Bunt UAE 2015; Top model in Mr Dubai 2016; Mr Bangalore 2017; Mr South India 2018.

Deepak recently bagged the title ‘Mr South India 2018’ which was held in January in Bengaluru, where he had to battle 14 other contestants. He also won the ‘Best Physic’ award. He was honored by many communities and NMC for his achievement

This achievement brought him offers from film industry. It is gathered that even a Sandalwood director approached Deepak to act in his films. Deepak is willing to act in Tulu movies and get recognized as an actor.

Belagavi, Mar 13: Former Karnataka Minister and Senior Congress leader H K Patil on Thursday alleged that the ruling BJP government headed by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has shown negligence towards completion of the irrigation projects in North-Karnataka region.

Mr. Patil said that no sufficient provision was made in the Budget for 2020-21 presented by Yediyurappa on March 5.

North Karnataka region people, farmers, and leaders expected more fund allocation to complete the pending and ongoing irrigation projects, but they are disappointed.

Bengaluru, Apr 20: The cumulative positive cases of COVID-19 in Karnataka stand at 408, including 16 deaths and 112 people discharged.

Karnataka's Department of Health and Family Welfare in a media bulletin said: "As of 5 pm on April 20, cumulatively 408 COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed in the state. It includes 16 deaths and 112 discharges."

Out of the remaining 280 cases, 278 COVID-19 positive patients including one pregnant woman in isolation at designated hospitals are stable, and two are in ICU, added Health and Family Welfare Department.

"18 new cases have been confirmed for COVID-19 in the State from Sunday 5 pm to Monday at 5 pm," added the department.

Mangaluru, Jan 17: An auto-mobile shop at Deralakatte here caught fire on Friday incurring huge loss on the shopkeeper.

According to police, the incident happened in the morning when the shop owner opened the shop.

Locals suspect that miscreants might have set the shop on fire and had escaped from the scene at night.
