Mangaluru, Apr 2: Two motorbike-borne miscreants allegedly snatched gold chain of a septuagenarian near the railway level crossing in Jeppu Mahakalipadpu on Tuesday.
The Mangaluru South police said G. Kasturi (75), a resident of Morgans Gate, left her house for a walk around 6 p.m. and came towards the railway level crossing.
As she was walking, two persons on a motorcycle stopped and asked for direction to a BPO. As she was showing the route, the person seated pillion pushed her and pulled her chain.
The two sped away on the narrow road leading to the BPO before the woman could recover from the fall.
The gold chain was worth around Rs. 60,000, according to the complainant.
