MP Governor's scam-tainted son found dead

Lucknow, Mar 25: Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav's son Shailesh, whose name had figured in the multi-crore Vyapam scam, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his official residence here today.

mp governor Police said the exact cause of the death could not be ascertained immediately.

"We have got information that Shailesh Yadav, aged about 50, died at the official residence of MP Governor Ram Naresh Yadav at Mall Avenue locality here", Gautampalli Police Station in-charge, Vidrendra Bahadur Singh said.

Shailesh's name had cropped up in the multi-crore Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board or Vyapam scam, for allegedly fixing the recruitment of 10 candidates as Grade III teachers.

Naresh Yadav, a former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, was appointed Madhya Pradesh Governor by Congress in 2011.

Rs 45 lakh counterfeit notes seized in Kasaragod

Kasaragod, Feb 18: Police have seized counterfeit notes of Rs 45 lakh from a resident here on Tuesday.

The accused Muhammed, a native of Perla, has been taken into custody for carrying the prohibited currency and the police is investigating the crime.

Entire Dakshina Kannada to remain completely shut on March 28 as corona cases mount

Mangaluru, Mar 27: In the wake of mounting number of coronavirus positive cases in Dakshina Kannada and surrounding areas, the government has decided to fully shut down the coastal district on Saturday, March 28.

Announcing this today, district in charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary urged the people not to step out their homes at any cost for any reason as nothing would be available outside except the deadly coronavirus.

All grocery stores, food outlets and markets also are likely to remain closed. For last few days grocery shops remained open till noon.

Dakshina Kannada today reported two fresh cases of Covid-19. So far the district witnessed seven positive cases and none of them are fully cured. Shockingly neighboring district of Kasargod today reported 34 new coronavirus positive cases on a single day.
