MP?man beheads two sons after he suspects wife of incestuous affair

Sagar, Nov 19: Police arrested one person in Basata village in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district for beheading his two minor sons, and trying to kill his wife and another son.

womanGyan Singh, assistant sub-inspector of Bamitha police station in Chhatarpur district told HT that at around 10 pm, one Kalicharan Kushwaha, a marginal farmer, entered the bed room with an axe, and attacked his wife and three children.

“He (Kalicharan) suspected that his wife had an illicit relationship with his brother-in-law, and wanted to kill his wife and children,” Singh said, adding that he attacked when the wife and children were in deep sleep.

Two sons – Bhole (4) and Lokendra (8) died on the spot, while Malti, the wife and eldest son Karan (10) sustained deep cut injuries on the neck and shoulder, police officials said.

On hearing mother and children shouting for help, neighbours and other family members rushed for help. The wife somehow managed to open the door and the people overpowered Kalicharan, and took him to custody. He was later handed over to police.

The injured wife and son were rushed to the district hospital in Chhatarpur. Prima facia investigation has revealed that Kalicharan was suspicious of his wife behavior, and was suspicious of her illicit relationship with his brother in law.

Kalicharan wanted to kill the sons because he presumed that all the three children were from the illicit relationship.

Amaravati, Jul 31: Nine people have died after allegedly consuming sanitiser in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh today, the police said.

Prakasam district Superintendent of Police Siddharth Kaushal said the people had been consuming sanitiser for the past few days, mixing it with water and soft drinks.

"We are also investigating whether they laced the sanitiser with any other toxic substances," the official said.

"Their family members say these people have been consuming sanitiser for the past ten days. We are sending the sanitiser stocks, being sold in the area, for examination," he added.

Kurichedu in Prakasam district has been under lockdown due to rise in coronavirus cases and hence, liquor shops have also been shut since the past few days.

Habitual drinkers were said to be consuming sanitisers that have alcohol content, apart from illicitly distilled arrack.

The police said two beggars near a temple were the first to fall victim on Thursday night. While one of them was found dead at the spot, another died in the government hospital in Darsi town, they said.

A third person was also taken to the Darsi hospital late on Thursday night after he fell unconscious but he was declared brought dead. Six others who fell ill after allegedly consuming sanitiser, died this morning.

Others who fell ill after consuming sanitiser are undergoing treatment at their residences in the village, the police added.

May 12: A Madhya Pradesh Police sub-inspector was fined Rs 5,000 after he performed a daredevil act of balancing himself on two moving cars, copying the famous stunt from Ajay Devgn-starrer 'Singham'.

Manoj Yadav, the in-charge of Narsinghgarh police post in Damoh district, was also warned against any such daredevilry in future, police sources said on Monday.

Sporting shades as the hero of the cop drama film and wearing his police uniform, Yadav got the entire episode video-graphed, they said.

As the video of the stunt went viral on social media, senior police officials took serious note of it as it will send wrong signals to youngsters, the sources said.

Inspector General, Sagar range, Anil Sharma directed Damoh Superintendent of Police Hemant Chauhan to probe the matter.

After an investigation, Chauhan imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the sub-inspector and warned him not to repeat such mistakes.

The incident took place at deceased, Arvind's rented house in LBS Nagar inside HAL police station limits.

According to police, Arvind is an accused in a criminal case and recently walked out of jail on bail.
