‘Mr. International Indian’ to mark UAE’s 44th national day

Dubai: A press conference was held yesterday at Darbar Hall, India Club, Oud Metha Road, Dubai on the forthcoming major event 'Mr. International Indian 2015-16 Bodybuilding Championship' which will be organised by 'Team Dubai Indian'/Al Zeal Fitness under the aegis of Emirates Bodybuilding Federation, General Authority of Youth & Sports Welfare, Indian Federation in association with Rhythm Events.

This first ever competition of this kind in Dubai will be held on 29th & 30th January, 2016. The qualifying rounds will take place in an indoor venue to be finalised soon whereas the final rounds will be held on 30th January, 2016 at Al Nasr Leisure land Ice Rink will be from 3 PM onwards.

Shodhan Prasad welcomed the representatives of various Medias and opened up the conference inviting Mr. Abdul Karim Mohd. Saeed, Second Vice President of Emirates Bodybuilding Federation (EBBF), Imran Khan, main organiser of Team Dubai Indian & Chief of Al Zeal Fitness Centre, Dubai on to the dais followed by Ravindranath Rai, Afroz Assadi, Yousef Ansari & Shodhan all from the Organising Committee of Team Dubai Indian. Also present in the meet were Chetan Pathar, Vikram Rothe, Varun Srinivasan, Sirajuddin, Asif & Arif Ibrahim along with the Media representatives. Shodhan briefed on the event and distributed the press release stating that this event is a part of the ongoing UAE's 44th National Day Celebrations.

Later Abdul Karim Mohd. Saeed of EBBF spoke on the event and extended full support to this international event. He disclosed that all the judges for this event are from the UAE Nationals who are professionals in this field and since this is an event for only Indians; keeping Emirati Judges will otherwise prove to be impartial and will have fair judgement also. He added that this event is not just for this year but will go on every year as a part of UAE's National Day Celebration Event with more participants. He thanked the organisers for arraning such sportive event in UAE soil and extended full co-operation from EBBF.

Imran Khan thanked Abdul Karim Mohd. Saeed for his full support and mentioned that this was possible only because of the support from the EBBF. This sports event will be a friendly competition with the co-operation of various Federations including EBBF and we will raise the standards of this event, conducting it professionally, he added. Later Ravindranath Rai of Team Dubai Indian clarified few questions of the media on the qualifying criteria.

Big numbers of entries from all over the world have already been registered and confirmation sent to those participants. The event will have the presence of 'The Great Khali' of WWF who will be the major attraction and the final event will also have some cultural presentations of UAE-India by various groups. This will add spice and colour to the event as briefed during the press conference.

This is a golden opportunity for those Indian body builders to bag the International Title in overseas soil and will boost the Indian Bodybuilders to challenge themselves for such future similar events. The conference concluded with vote of thanks followed by refreshments.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) organized Blood Donation Camp at Latifa Hospital, Oud Mehta Dubai on April 23rd, 2020 in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and with support from Community Development Authority (CDA) Government of Dubai.

Blood Donation Drive started in the morning at 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Around 48 people participated in this drive and donated blood to support the Dubai Blood Bank.

A potential shortage of blood for transfusions has been occurred due to a significant reduction in voluntary blood donations during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current pandemic, health services are now running with shortages of blood availability. To support the DHA Blood Bank KSCC taken initiative to ensure that blood donations continued and are safe for both the donor and the recipient.

After taking safety precaution and safe distance during the blood donation donors feeling happy and honored to participate and donate blood at this pandemic situation. Club Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi was also present during this event.

KSCC appreciated all the blood donors and be grateful to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Community Development Authority (CDA), and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. They also thanked the volunteers and supporters.

Dubai: In response to UAE health authorities encourage blood donation campaign Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta - U.A.E, conducted blood donation camps on April 22 at Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and on 23/04/2020 at Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah.

The Abu Dhabi camp was inaugurated by Head of Department of Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, On this occasion she gave brief inputs of the benefits and features of blood donation, urged the participants to spread greater awareness about the importance of blood donation and congratulated the AKO members for their selfless social service and wished all the best for their future endeavours.

Abdul Rasheed, President of AKO presided over the function and Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta Vice President Mr. Mohammad Nasir appreciated the effort for organizing this camp and gathering youths to be a part of this noble cause as life is precious on this earth. "Each drop of blood counts much, so kindly take it as personal compassion to help unknown who requires blood with no relatives to help him/her.

In Abu Dhabi 41 and in Sharjah 49 donors participated in this event and donated their blood. It was nice to see cheerful smiling donors doing a great community work.
Blood bank staff and AKO Organizing team enthusiastically arranged the campaign which was witnessed by many members and leaders of various community organization of Karnataka.

Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta President briefed the participates about the ongoing social work of AKO in this current COVID-19 pandemic grim situation AKO is working on following fields: AKO Members have stepped up to support needy community during the Covid-19 pandemic have gone out of their way to comfort those struggling to deal with the challenging situation.

While thousands of people continue to #StayHome, many are in quarantine, there are those on visit visa and stuck here, others have lost jobs or face salary cuts. AKO in coordination with UAE Embassy and other social organization have been able to ensure basic necessities are fulfilled with food provisions and medical assistance to needy.

Providing counselling to bachelors and families those are on quarantine and isolation.

The organizers thanked everybody especially, UAE Health Authority, Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah, Management and staff as well as donors for their time and support for the good cause.

Kuwait: Friday Forum Kuwait conducted its 12th inter-school Islamic Elocution Competition at Hotel Rajadhani Palace, Khaitan on 1st January 2020. 

The competition, which was held in the senior and junior categories had participation from 15 Indian Schools across Kuwait comprising of 43 students. In the senior category, Ayisha Wafiya of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Efrem Joseph of Indian Community School, Amman won the second prize. 

In the junior category, Hima Jameela of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Fadhel Kandapath of Fahaheel Al Wataniya Indian School won the second prize. Nawaal Yaseen Ebrahim of Indian Community School (SR), Salmiya and Rhruthunanda of Indian Learners Own Academy, Abbasiya won the consolation prizes in senior and junior categories respectively.

This year, the event was fully conducted by the ladies wing of Friday Forum. Dr. Thasneem Amir, Ibtisam Basheer, Toast Masters Ola Rasheed, Fatma Abduhedeid, Shazia Thabassum and Marium Rangat were the judges for the competition in senior and junior categories. The event started with the Qira’at by Saneera Riyas, followed by welcome speech by Dr. Sajna Mohammed. 

The prizes were distributed to winners by Shahina Mansoor, Femitha Faseeh, Dr.Thasneem Amir, Dr. Sajna Mohammed, Zeenath Yacoub, Safna Sayam and Saneera Riyas. The Souvenir for the program - “INSPERIA 2020”- was released during the event by the chief editor Farha Abdul Rahman. The program was compered by Thanveera Noushad and the program convenor Subeana Shabeer conveyed the vote of thanks.
