Multi-crore IMA fraud: SIT sleuths fly to Dubai to nab Mohammed Mansoor Khan

Bengaluru, Jun 29: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) team, constituted to inquire into the alleged over Rs 4000 crore fraud by the Indian Monetary Advisory (IMA) Jewellers, has flown to Dubai to nab the main culprit Mohammed Mansoor Khan, who is reportedly hiding in the Gulf nation.

According to official sources, Khan, had reportedly fled to Dubai, after shutting down his businesses in Bengaluru on June 8 rendering heartburn over 40000 investors, who had deposited over Rs 4000 crore in his firm.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) which is also investigating into the IMA Fraud had already attached over Rs 290 crore worth properties belonging to Khan.

Consult Ayurveda experts for coronavirus issue: Karnataka Health Minister

Mysuru, Feb 6: Karnataka Health Minister B Sriramulu on Thursday said that he would consult experts in Ayurveda and other streams over coronavirus issue.

Speaking to the media here, he said that ''So far no positive case has been reported in the state''.

''However, the Health department officials have taken all precautionary measures to check the epidemic'', he further said.

Konkani writer Richard John Pais passes away at 51

Mangaluru, Mar 1: Noted Konkani writer and theater personality Richard John Pais died on Sunday after a brief illness, family sources said.

He was 51. He is survived by wife and two children.

Known in literary circles as ‘RJP’, his short stories, satirical writings, and poems were very popular.

Vidya Dinker, Naveenchandra to participate in national level consultation on Urban Governance

Mangalore, Jan 21: Former city councillor and social activists Naveenchandra and social activist Vidya Dinker have been invited to participate in two-day National Level Consultation on Urban Governance which will take place on January 22 and 23 at Juniper Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

Urban governance stakeholders of 20 states and one union territory will be participating in this national level consultative seminar. The participants will include elected representatives, NGO representatives and urban planning experts. The seminar is being organised by Mumbai based Prajna Foundation, which has undertaken an in-depth study of the governance of the 20 states and one union territories.

Having served several terms as a corporator of Mangaluru City Corporation, Naveenchandra is knowledgeable in matters relating to urban governance. He is very popular in his constituency. Vidya Dinker is a well known city based social activist. She is the Coordinator, Citizens Forum for Mangalore Development.

Vidya Dinker I can understand but Naveen i don't know on what qualifications and credentials he has been selected and to say he is Popular in his constituency is a Misnormer . Just visit kambla ward once and speak to people and you can understand it better !!!
