Murder accused UP MLA eyes joining BJP with Yogi's 'blessings'

Gorakhpur, Apr 30: Nautanwa Independent MLA Aman Mani Tripathi, accused of murdering his wife, met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath here today triggering speculations that he could join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the near future.murder accused

When confronted, Tripathi told ANI that Yogi Adityanath is like his 'guardian' and if he is asked to join the party he will do so.

Tripathi also said he is only an accused in the murder case and has not been convicted.

Adityanath who has vowed to eliminate criminals and improve law and order in the state was seen sharing stage at an event in Gorakhpur with Tripathi yesterday.

This came as a shock to many, given Yogi Adityanath's strict stance on those who 'play with the law'.

Amanmani had earlier claimed that his wife Sara died in a road accident when they were on their way to Delhi for a holiday in July 9, 2015.

CBI filed the chargesheet in a special CBI court in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad under Sections of 302 (murder), 498-A (husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code.

Panipat, Mar 3: A 22-year-old man was charred to death after he came in contact with a live electricity wire while posing for a TikTok video near the Matlaudha railway station here, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Monday evening when Vikas, a resident of Dharamgarh village, climbed a pole over which the wire was passing and posed for the video, police said.

His three friends were standing below when the accident took place.

Vikas came in contact with the wire carrying 25,000 volts current and was burnt, police said.

Police have sent the body for a post-mortem and started investigation into the matter.

Muzaffarnagar, Jun 11: Three persons have been arrested for allegedly using plastic scrap to make jaggery at Bhokaheri village under Bhopa police station here, as official said on Thursday.

 Police raided a jaggery manufacturing unite (kolhu) and arrested three persons on Wednesday, SHO, Bhopa police station Sanjive Kumar said.

Police have registered a case against five persons including the trio that was arrested while two of them managed to escape, he said, adding that two loaded tractor trollies of plastic scrap have been seized.

Mathura, Jul 22: A local court in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura on Wednesday sentenced 11 policemen, including the then Deputy Superintendent of Police, to life imprisonment in a case pertaining to the murder of royal Raja Man Singh in 1985.

District Judge Sadhana Rani Thakur announced the life imprisonment sentence a day after holding them guilty of the killing. Three policemen were, however, acquitted. Four men died during the trial.

The policemen were convicted under Section 302 (murder), 148 (rioting) and 149 (Every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the Indian Penal Code.

The verdict comes 35 years after Man Singh was killed. He, along with two others, was shot dead in police firing a day after he crashed his jeep into the then Rajasthan Chief Minister Shiv Charan Mathur's helicopter in a fit of anger.
