My legs sell 15 products in India: Priyanka Chopra

September 14, 2016

Mumbai, Sep 14: Global icon Priyanka Chopra, whose name sells like hot cake, recently opened up about her tomboy-ish days and scarred legs. Speaking on the same in an interview with W magazine, the 34-year-old Desi girl said that she learnt to take care of herself and as a result, her legs now sell almost '12 or 15 products' in India.

priyanka1"When I was a teenager, I was a tomboy. So I had scars, I was always falling on my knees. They were not the prettiest legs in the world, and then I taught myself how to take care of my body. Anybody can do it if I can. And today my legs sell like 12 or 15 products in my part of the world. Yeah they do," she said.

Further speaking about her growing up days, the 'Bajirao Mastani' actress said that with years, she has found 'how to be the best version' of herself. When PeeCee was further quizzed about her first audition, she said that popular American TV series 'Quantico' was her first one.

"I just think I've found how to be the best version of myself, and that took a lot of years. When I was a kid, especially at like 16, it blew my mind that I won Miss India because I was like the gawkiest teenager. I had no self-esteem. I got really bullied when I was in school in America [for three years], so that crushed my spirit a little bit more," Priyanka explained in the interview.

"This is going to some really bizarre, but my first audition was Quantico. I became Miss World [in 2000], so then when I was doing movies in India, I was initially cast because I was in this world. And then in my first movie I won lots of awards and so then I never really looked back. But then, of course, everyone auditions here. That was my first and only audition in my life," said the actress.

The star who graces the cover of W Magazine, looks mesmerizing in a close up snap, donning a blue outfit, little make-up and sharp eyes. The magazine quotes her as one of the 'new royals who totally rule,' alongside international divas such as Elle Fanning, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jodie Foster, Halle Berry, and Irina Shayk and 16 others.

Priyanka took to Instagram a day ago to share the picture and wrote alongside, "I love this cover. Thx u @WMag! Such an honor to be named Royalty alongside this insanely talented group...I always thought I was a queen (haha) #DreamComeTrue #TheRoyals"

On the work front, other than shooting the season of 'Quantico,' the actress is all set to make her Hollywood debut with Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron starrer 'Baywatch.'

Mumbai, Jan 12: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday came out in support of actor Deepika Padukone, who is facing flak from the BJP and some other quarters over her visit to the JNU campus in Delhi to express solidarity with students who were recently attacked by armed assailants.

Raut, who is a Rajya Sabha member and the executive editor of Shiv Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana', said the country cannot be run in a "Talibani" style.

After Padukone's visit to the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Tuesday, many appreciated her "silent solidarity", but some others criticised her for "supporting Leftists", saying it was a promotional stunt for her latest film "Chhapaak".

Some also demanded a boycott of her film, based on the life of an acid attack survivor, played by Padukone.

A section of BJP leaders also criticised the 34-year- old actor over her JNU visit.

Talking to PTI, Raut said, "The demand for boycott of the actress and her film is wrong. The country cannot be run in a 'Talibani' style."

"Chhapaak", directed by Meghna Gulzar, hit the theatres on Friday.

Declaring a movie tax-free means the state has waived the entertainment levy imposed on it, thereby bringing down the ticket rates and encouraging more people to watch it.

California, Jun 30: Online video-sharing platform YouTube on Monday banned several prominent channels, including those belonging to Stefan Molyneux and Richard Spencer.

The company banned six channels for repeatedly violating YouTube's policies.

According to The Verge, other channels banned include American Renaissance (with its associated channel AmRen Podcasts) and the channel for Spencer's National Policy Institute.

YouTube began taking stern measures on supremacist channels in June 2019.

"We have strict policies prohibiting hate speech on YouTube, and terminate any channel that repeatedly or egregiously violates those policies," the Verge quoted a YouTube spokesperson as saying.

"After updating our guidelines to better address supremacist content, we saw a 5x spike in video removals and have terminated over 25,000 channels for violating our hate speech policies," the spokesperson added.
