New Delhi, May 28: The BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday took charge as the Union Minister for External Affairs.
After assuming office, Ms. Sushma said “My priority will be to showcase our strengths to the world and improve ties with neighbouring countries, strategic partners, Africa, Europe and others.”
She also added “We told Pakistan that we want good relations with it. Talks can be successful provided terror activities stop.”
Ms. Sushma further stated that “Prime Minister Narendra Modi had conveyed to Nawaz Sharif that talks will get subdued under the din of bomb blasts.”
The other BJP leaders to take charge, on Wednesday, are Ananth Kumar as Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers, M. Venkaiah Naidu as Parliamentary Affairs Minister and Uma Bharti as Minister of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
