Bengaluru, Feb 28: Former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said on Thursday clarified that his statement on air strikes on terror camps in Pakistan by the Indian Air Force was misquoted in a section of the media and he had not said that this air strike would benefit Bharatiya Janata Party in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
His clarification comes in the wake of former Indian Army chief Gen V K Singh taking exception over the reports.
In a twitter message the BJP leader said his statement had been misquoted by a section of their media and he had not said that the air strikes would benefit the BJP. ‘’I never said that the air strikes would help win its targeted 22 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka. It had been taken out of contest. I had merely said that there was condusive atmosphere for the BJP to return to power at the centre,’’ he said.
