N D Tiwari’s son Rohit Shekhar brought dead to Delhi hospital

New Delhi, Apr 16: ohit Shekhar Tiwari, son of former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, ND Tiwari, has died.

Rohit Shekhar Tiwari was brought dead to Max hospital in Saket.

DCP South Delhi Vijay Kumar issued a statement to confirm the death. He said, "Rohit Shekhar Tiwari, son of late former Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand CM N D Tiwari, has been brought dead to Max Saket hospital. Further details are awaited."

It is not yet clear what led to Rohit Shekhar Tiwari's sudden death on Tuesday.

According to Joint Commissioner, Delhi Police, Devesh Shrivastava, Rohit Shekhar Tiwari suffered a nose bleed, which his servants reported to his mother.

Rohit's mother was not at home at the time. She was at a hospital undergoing checkup.

Rohit was rushed to the Max Hospital in an ambulance, but was declared brought dead.

Police has seized Rohit's Defence Colony residence. Investigators are searching the house to look for reasons behind the death.

Rohit Shekhar Tiwari famously fought a long-drawn battle with his father ND Tiwari, who for the longest time refused to accept him as his son.

In 2014, after number of denials, lawsuits and a DNA test, ND Tiwari finally accepted that Rohit was his son.

Rohit had filed the paternity suit in 2007, seven years later, ND Tiwari accepted him as his son after a court order and a DNA test revealed that he is Rohit's biological father.

ND Tiwari passed away in 2018.

Geneva, Jul 2: The World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated the overall number of coronavirus cases globally at 10,357,662, with 508,055 people having died from the disease.

The UN health agency said in the situation report published on late Wednesday that 163,939 new cases had been recorded in the past day, while further 4,188 patients had died.

Americas continue to lead the count with over 5.2 million cases, followed by Europe with more than 2.7 million.

The WHO declared the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic on March 11.

Jammu, Jan 23: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has brought the disgraced Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Davinder Singh to Jammu for investigations.

According to sources, Davinder Singh has been brought on a transit remand. A formal remand from the NIA court for interrogation will be taken on Thursday.

On Wednesday, fresh raids were carried out by the NIA at Singh's residences in Srinagar.

Singh was caught while transporting two militants, Naveed Babu and Rafi Ahmed, and a lawyer Irfan Ahmed in a vehicle to Jammu on January 11.

According to sources the two militants and the lawyer had plans to travel to Pakistan after reaching Jammu.

The case was transferred to the NIA after initial investigation by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Singh has been dismissed from the service and the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday forfeited the commendation medal and certificate awarded to him.

New Delhi, May 18: Very severe cyclonic storm ‘Amphan’, over central parts of South Bay of Bengal, has intensified into extremely severe cyclonic storm, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday. The weather department has warned that ‘Amphan’ may turn into a “super cyclonic storm’.

According to experts, North Odisha coast will face the maximum impact of cyclone Amphan when it makes landfall.

“Wind speed expected to be 110-120 kmph, gusting up to 130 kmph. Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj dist can be affected on 20 May (when it makes landfall), IMD Bhubaneswar scientist Umashankar Das told news agency ANI.

The IMD has said that ‘Amphan’ will cross West Bengal - Bangladesh coasts between Digha (WB) and Hatiya island - in the afternoon/evening of May 20 as very severe cyclonic storm.

Earlier, the IMD had warned that ‘Amphan’, over central parts of South Bay of Bengal, will intensify into an extremely severe cyclonic storm on Monday.

“Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (VSCS) ‘AMPHAN’ over central parts of South Bay of Bengal near latitude 12.5°N and longitude 86.4°E, about 870 km nearly south of Paradip (Odisha). To intensify further into an Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm (ESCS) in the next six hours,” the IMD said in a tweet on Monday.

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has sent its 10 teams to Odisha and seven teams to West Bengal in view of the approaching Cyclone Amphan, news agency reported.
