National level workshop held at BIT

Mangalore: Dr. K. Byrappa, Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University inaugurated three days National Level Hands on Workshop on “HIGH-SPEED FLOWS & DAQ- HSDAQ” on 21st of April 2017.

Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the importance of data acquisition in material science research and the application of high speed computing systems in data acquisition. Mr. Syed Mohamed Beary, Chairman, Bearys Academy of Learning presided over the function.

He pointed out that the Supersonic laboratory of Bearys Institute of Technology is unique of its type and the facilities of the laboratory are available not only to the students and researchers of BIT, but also to those of any other college. Dr.R.C. Mehta, Professor, Noorul Islam University, Kanyakumari and former Head of Aerodynamic Division, VSSC and Dr. S.A.Khan, Professor, IIUM, Malaysia were guests of honour. Dr. Abdul Kareem, Principal of BIT spoke on the occasion.

Mr. Asadullah welcomed the gathering and Mr. Mohammed Rasheed of Mechanical Engineering department proposed vote of thanks.

Mandya, Jul 6: With a journalist from Srirangapatna testing positive for Covid-19, the Mandya District Journalists Association was sealed as a precautionary measure.

Association President K C Manjunath said on Monday that as the reporter has tested positive for Covid-19, it was voluntarily decided to seal down the premises for another month.

Bengaluru, Apr 6: Popular Kannada comedy actor Prakash, popularly known as Bullet Prakash in the film industry, died due to multi-organ failure at a private hospital in the City on Monday.

He was 44.

He is survived by wife, one son and a daughter.

Belagavi, Jan 16: Six Poachers were arrested in two different cases at Gollahalli forest range in Kittur section in the district on Thursday.

The arrested were identified as Bharmesh alias Bharmappa Hanumant Bhajantri, Mallesh Hanumant Bhajantri residents of Budanakatti in Bailahongal Taluk.

Another alleged accused Yuvraj Basappa Bhajantri managed to escape.
