Nazeer Ahmed unanimously elected president of Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh

Riyadh: Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh Saudi Arabia, a charitable non-profit organization, Conducted their 12th Annual General Body Meeting @ Masala Zone Auditorium RIYADH on 15th November 2019 and unanimously elected Mr Nazeer Ahmed as President of KWAR for the term 2109-20, along with Vice President Mr Nelson D’Souza, Gen. Secretary Mr. Irfan Aboobakar, Joint Secretary Mr. Salman Noor, Treasurer Mr. Mahesh Hegde and Joint Treasurer Mr. Victor Menezes. 

Starting the proceedings of AGM Mr. Nitin Rai Kukkuvalli, gave a brief introduction of KWAR to the audience and invited the KWAR President Mr Santhosh Shetty, General Secretary Mr Nelson D’Souza and the Treasurer Mr Mahesh Hegde to the dias. 

Outgoing KWAR President Mr Santhosh Shetty gave a warm welcome to the Guests and narrated the good humanitarian work done by KWAR for the benefits of needy Karavali people, specially working here in Saudi Arabia. He has stressed for cooperation from all the members of KWAR so that KWAR can continue to do their good work for the society. KWARs achievements in his tenure and the cordial relations between KWAR and Embassy of India was the highlight of his welcome speech and he thanked one and all for the tremendous support he received from the Members during his term as KWAR President.

Mr Nelson Dsouza, General Secretary read out the Annual Report, KWARs achievements in social, Humanitarian, Sports and other activities during the period from 2017 to 2019, with a Slide Show which was well appreciated by the good number of members who attended the AGM.

Shri Mahesh Hegde, Vice President and Treasurer read out the Financial report of KWAR and requested the members to enroll more members to KWAR family.  Mr. Nitin Rai  Kukkuvalli who compeered the proceedings did an excellent job to the appreciation of all the members who were gathered in the Auditorium.

President Shri Santhosh Shetty dissolved the existing committee which he was heading in order to pave the way for the Election of new KWAR President, office Bearers and other committee members.

Dr Anwar Kurshid, Shri Roshan Shabbir and Shri Abbas Uchhil were the three Election Commissioners who were escorted to the Dias by KWAR Ex-President Shri Ramesh Shetty and honored them with flower bouquets. The three wise men conducted the Election process in a very transparent manner and as it always happens in KWAR family, and selected 31 member’s committee. Once the committee was formed, the Ex-President Shri Santhosh Shetty proposed Mr Nazeer Ahmed to be the President for the term 2019-20. All the members unanimously agreed with the proposal and at the same time, Mr Nazeer Ahmed accepted this position. And moving further the election commissioners elected all the office bearers unanimously which shows KWARs theme of UNITY is our Strength.

The newly elected President Mr. Nazeer Ahmed thanked all the members who elected him and his team unanimously and requested the members for all the cooperation and support for the smooth function of KWAR activities in the future. 

Delicious lunch was served for the members gathered for the AGM. The meeting ended with National Anthem.

Kundapur, Apr 13: The city police, burdened with the enforcement of COVID-19 lockdown decided to undertake door delivery of essential items to ensure people remained indoor, official sources said here on Monday.

According to them, the police would be delivering items to the houses in Kumdapur, Byndoor, Gongolli, Shankara Narayana, Kundapur Rural, Kota and Amavasebail.

The police will start spreading awareness with this regard for three days starting from today (April 13).

Bengaluru,  Jul 18: Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda on Friday said that Government of India headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been extending all possible assistance to state government in their endeavour to combat the deadly coronavirus.

In a statement released after participating in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa in Bengaluru today, Gowda said he shared his views with the state government on how to control the spread of COVID-19 in the state in general and Bengaluru in particular.

He said the Centre was in constant touch with the state government on the issue. The centre is more than happy to extend any help further if Karnataka requires so.

"Being a Union Minister handling the Pharmaceutical Department also, I am closely monitoring the medicine demand and supply situation across the country on a day-to-day basis. The availability of required medicines including HCQ and Paracetamol is satisfactory in all states including Karnataka. Also, there has been enough lifesaving drugs in our Jan Aushadhi Kendras all over India. Over 600 such outlets exist in Karnataka alone," he said.

"If there is any issue related to medicine shortage or overpricing, one can bring it to my knowledge or call PMBJP tollfree number 18001808080 or NPPA number 18001112550 / 011-23345118 / 011-23345122. The grievances will surely be resolved to everybody's satisfaction" added the minister.

With related to state governments or private agencies seeking to import emergency medicines, medical equipment etc., Gowda assured, we would facilitate required licences without any delay.

"I strongly feel that it is our collective responsibility to use everything in our armour to defeat the pandemic. We also seek public support in this mission. Together, we will win," he said.

Udupi, May 17: A total of 1,460 migrant labourers left for Uttar Pradesh from Indrali Railway Station in Udupi in Shramik Special train on Sunday.

This is the first train to ferry migrant labourers from Udupi. As many as 236 from Karkala, 323 from Kundapura, 901 labourers from Brahmavar, Kaup and Udupi left for their native villages.

More than 2,000 labourers had gathered at the railway station and only 1,460 labourers received tickets to travel.

Those who did not receive tickets were disappointed and got into heated arguments with the officials.

The labourers were promised that they will receive tickets to another train, that would depart from Udupi before May 20. One bogie of the train was reserved for pregnant women, women and children.

As many as 1,712 from Jharkhand, 770 from Odisha, 977 from West Bengal, 1,600 from Bihar, 379 from Madhya Pradesh, 280 from Chattisgarh, 110 from Uttarkhand, 379 from Rajasthan had registered on Seva Sindhu portal.

Additional Deputy Commissioner B Sadashiva Prabhu said that there are plans to make arrangements to send migrant labourers from UP, Uttaranchal, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand.
