Uppinangady, Sept 8: “We need not to do anything to ‘protect’ our religion. Instead, if we tread the religious path, the religion itself will protect us,” said Esha Vittaladas Swami, the chief pontiff of Kemaru Sandeepani Sadhana Ashrama.

He was speaking at the goodwill programme to mark the launching ceremony of the K M Shafi Memorial Public Library and Shanti Centre established by the local unit of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) at Uppinangdy on Friday (Sept 7).

He said that one should first correct himself by adopting religious values and doing noble works rather than resorting to ignoble actions in the name of protecting religion.

“Serving the needy and poor is a religious act. Violence and conflicts are not propagated by religion. But, one has to gain proper knowledge to realize this fact,” he said hoping that the newly launched library may do the work of providing useful knowledge to the local people.

Dr Abdul Majeed, a Mangaluru based surgeon and honorary president of Ayisha Educational Trust, said that reading good books will help us build a peaceful society and achieve unity in diversity.

Mohammed Kunhi, Manager of Shanti Prakashana, Divakar Acharya, President of Uppinangady Rotary Club, Abdussalam U of JIH, Aravind Chokkadi, Kannada writer and Fr Abel Lobo spoke on the occasion.

Ameen Ahsan Sayeed of JIH welcomed. Abdul Haseeb recited Quranic verses in the beginning. Jaleel Mukri compered the programme. Dr Raghu, Syndicate Member, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences was present among others.

Hinduism worship many stone and even di@k (linga) as well as animal shit. one of the dirtiest and worst religion in front of GOD

Buddhism & Sikhism they too worship idol which is major sin in front of GOD

Jainism biggest worst culture they even roam naked in front of public..worst religion in front of GOD.

ISLAM is the one and only pure religion...only bow down to ALLAH the unseen god.he is the master of universe...No idol no foolish culture.

Well said swamiji. Follow any peaceful religion like Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Jainism. But if people follow a religion which offers you 4+72 for killing a kaafir, then the world be destroyed!

Bengaluru, May 2: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president DK Shivakumar has urged Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa to help the farmers in sending their produce to a market here amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The Congress leader made the appeal to the Chief Minister after listening to the farmers' issues while visiting KR Puram market on Friday.

Farmers told Shivakumar that the police are stopping their vehicles going towards the market despite the order passed by the Centre permitting the movement of vehicles carrying essential commodities during the lockdown.

"I have received calls from more than 100 farmers in the past few days. Every day, farmers from Kolar, Chikballapur, Malur and many other places come to KR Puram market to sell their agricultural goods, but their vehicles are stopped by the police. The cops do not allow them to sell fruits and vegetables. I request the Chief Minister to look into the matter and help the farmers," Shivakumar told reporters.

"I got to know that more than 50 vehicles were sent back. This government is of no use if they cannot secure the interests of the farmers. This government is not providing required support to the farmers," he added.

The Congress leader was accompanied by MLC Narayana Swamy and former president of Hoskote Authority Narayana Gowda during the visit to KR Puram market.

Bengaluru, Mar 16: A 23-year-old mobile app developer was arrested on Saturday for allegedly forging the signature of Infosys Foundation chairperson Sudha Murty to rope in Telugu actor Vijay Devarakonda as an app’s ambassador.

The arrest of Laveti Sai Krishna alias Krishna ML, a resident of Hyderabad, comes a year after the case was registered. Jayanagar police registered a case against Krishna on February 26, 2019 based on a complaint filed by Lt Col (retd) M Ramesh, representative of Infosys Foundation. The complaint was filed after the forged letter didn’t reach Devarakonda and came back to Infosys Foundation instead.

App developer is a B.Pharma holder

“We conducted an investigation and traced the app designer. We caught him and based on information provided by him, we learnt that Krishna was the brain behind the forged signature,” a senior police officer said.

Krishna confessed that he developed a mobile app — ‘Offer nearby’ — and planned to launch it in a big way. He wanted Telugu actor Vijay Devarakonda to be the app’s brand ambassador and tried contacting him. Krishna, however, was unable to meet Vijay.

Krishna then thought he could easily reach the actor if he sent a recommendation letter in the name of Sudha Murty.

“He forged the letterhead of Infosys Foundation and Sudha Murty’s signature. We are verifying his antecedents to know if he committed any other offence earlier,” said Rohini Sepat-Katoch, DCP (south). Rohini said Krishna is a B.Pharma holder and worked with an advertisement firm. Later, he planned to develop an app that provides details of offers for retail customers. He floated Laveti Technologies, and with help from a friend, developed ‘Offer nearby’.

As per the complaint, Krishna created a fake letterhead in the name of Sudha Murty and wrote to Devarakonda, asking him to become the brand ambassador/ partner for his mobile app. Krishna sent it through SpeedPost mentioning the sender’s address as Infosys Foundation. Krishna’s game was up when the letter, which wasn’t delivered to Devarakonda, came back to Infosys Foundation.
