NEET 2019: Mangaluru college secures 12 of the top 50 state ranks

Mangaluru, Jun 28: The state rank list of NEET (UG) 2019 has been released and the students of Expert PU College, Mangaluru have secured 12 of the top 50 ranks.

A single PU College securing 12 of the top 50 ranks, i.e., 24% of the top ranks in the state and garnering  all the ranks of the undivided Dakshina Kannada district is a rare achievement, said the Chairman of the Institution, Prof. Narendra L. Nayak.

Expert Students in the top 50:

Ankith Vishal Pandith with ( 15th rank) Ashay Jain C A  (17th  rank),     Joseph John (18th rank),  Karthik Palled(22nd rank), Bhuvan V B (26th   rank), Vickson Stevin DSouza (27th rank), Vidya Moudgalya B M (28th rank ) Prameeth S. (29th rank) Sevanth Sagar M (31st  rank) Mahendra V (32nd rank) Atharva  N Pikle  (42nd  rank) and Amisha B Somayaji   (48th rank) 

While 56% of the students who appeared for NEET in the whole country secured eligibility and in the state only 63.25% secured this eligibility, at Expert College 97.77% students secured eligibility.  This is noteworthy and praiseworthy. The management has congratulated and commended all the achievers.

Bengaluru, Mar 1: Bengaluru Police has rescued six women and arrested two people after a raid on a spa, allegedly operating illegally, in the city's HSR layout area.

"Of the women rescued three are from Thailand and the other three are from North-Eastern states," said a statement from the Central Crime Branch's (CCB) Women Protection Wing.

The raid was carried out on Saturday night and the police have arrested two people, while the owner of the spa is absconding.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Peter Sunawar and Rajkumar Radhakrishna Mishra. Further investigation is underway in the case.

Bengaluru, Aug 2: A total of 5,532 new cases of COVID-19 and 84 deaths were reported in Karnataka in the last 24 hours, the state's health department informed on Sunday.

With this, the Karnataka's COVID-19 tally now stands at 1,34,819 positive cases, including 74,590 active cases and 57,725 discharges.
So far, 2,496 deaths have been reported from the state.

India's COVID-19 count on Sunday crossed the 17 lakh-mark with 54,736 positive cases and 853 deaths reported in the country.

"The total COVID-19 cases stand at 17,50,724 including 5,67,730 active cases, 11,45,630 cured/discharged/migrated and 37,364 deaths," said the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

Bengaluru, Jun 27: The Bengaluru Police Commissioner’s office on Infantry Road has been sealed after one of the staffers tested Covid-positive. It will remain shut from June 27 to 29. 

A senior police officer from the administrative department, in a media release, stated that almost the entire staff has been asked to work from home, while some have told to work from sub-divisions of DCP’s offices. 

It is said that one of the staffers, who recently reported for duty at Anti-Terror Cell (ATC), tested positive on Friday, and officials took a decision to seal the premises after the media got wind of it. 

Earlier, a function for Drug Observation Day too was held on the premises on Friday. The staff has not been asked to go on quarantine. 

Only a few staffers have been asked to come to the police control room situated in the same building.
