'Neither Sidddaramaiah nor others have complained against coalition govt'

Mysuru, June 20: Karnataka Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda today brushed aside the media reports stating that many leaders have complained against collation government to AICC President Rahul Gandhi.

Speaking to newsmen here on Thursday, he said "no one, including Coordination Committee Chairman Siddaramiah who have spoken to Rahul Gandhi about the problems his party and bugging the state government by the opposition, have complained to him (Rahul Gandhi).

Stating that the JDS discussed with Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge to solve all the problems in running the government and the same has been discussed by the Chief Minister H D Kumraswamy including politics with aim to have a better understanding of the coalition, he added.

Mangaluru, Jan 31: Four people, including a minor and a teen-aged boy, have been arrested on charges of spreading false messages on social media with in Bantwal taluk of Dakshnina Kannada District.

Police said on Friday that the arrested have been identified as Siddik (27), K Mohammed (19), Hanif (25) and a 16-year-old boy.

They are accused of spreading false news on social media using different mobile numbers in Bantwal Taluk for disturbing communal harmony, police said adding a case had been registered at the Vitla police station in this connection.

Mangaluru, Apr 17: Authorities in Dakshina Kannada have announced a fresh coronavirus positive case. The patient is a resident of Uppinangady in Puttur taluk.

With this the total number of covid-19 positive cases in this coastal district mounted to 13 even though most of the patients have recovered and returned home after treatment.

In past twelve days this is the first coronavirus case reported in the district.

It is learnt that the 39-year-old had been to Delhi. He was home quarantined for past few days. His throat swabs were tested positive for the deadly disease today.

Bengaluru, Mar 1: A Bengaluru Court has extended the judicial custody of Amulya Leona, who raised 'Pakistan Zindabad' slogan at an anti-CAA rally in Bengaluru's Freedom Park on Feb 20, till March 5.

Amulya was sent to 14-day judicial custody for her actions in the presence of All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

A sedition case has been registered against Amulya.

According to the police, a suo moto case under Section 124A (sedition), 153A and B (promoting enmity between different groups and imputations, assertions prejudicial to national integration) have been registered against the girl.
