Newly elected BJP MPs committed to work for the development of Karnataka: Sadananda Gowda

Bengaluru, Jun 6: The newly elected BJP MPs from Karnataka are committed to work for protection of Karnataka's interests, Union Minister for Chemicals D V Sadananda Gowda said.

"Our top priority is for protecting the interests of people of Karnataka. We commit ourselves for this purpose and will work in this direction. There will be no rift or difference of opinion with the State government when the question of State's interest comes into picture be it be on any issue," he added.

Speaking at a felicitation honouring the newly elected 25 MPs by the party at Palace Grounds here, he said that "maintaining cordial relationship with the State government will be the main slogan and if the State government also cooperate we will unitedly work for getting pressure on the Center to get projects and various schemes for the overall development of the State."

Mangaluru, Apr 7: The virology lab set up in Wenlock Hospital here to test COVID-19 samples will start functioning from Tuesday, Karnataka District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said.

In his tweeter Mr Poojary said “After receiving approval from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and National Institute of Virology (NIV), the Virology Research and Diagnostic Laboratory set up at district Wenlock will start operating from April 7. The samples for COVID-19 will be tested in the district itself. I thank the state government for helping us set up the lab.”

The new Lab becomes the 10th government lab for testing COVID-19 samples in the state.

Madikeri, Jan 17: Kannada and Telugu actor Rashmika Mandanna is likely to be further interrogated by Income Tax (I-T) officials on Friday.

The residence and properties by the family of Rashmika were raided by I-T officials on Thursday morning. Following summons issued by I-T officials, Rashmika rushed to her residence on Thursday night and gave details on investments and other financial transactions.

After the interrogation, the I-T officials left for Serenity hall, which is owned by Rashmika's father, at Virajpet at around 2.30 am and stayed back there.

The I-T officials have reportedly directed Rashmika and her father Madan Mandanna not to leave the house.

Bengaluru, Feb 27: Famous music composer from Kannada film industry, Arjun Janya suffered a minor heart attack. The music composer was immediately taken to Apollo hospital in Mysore where he is currently undergoing treatment.

According to the doctor, Arjun Janya developed chest pain and was admitted to the hospital. The doctor revealed that he is out of danger now and will be kept under observation for a couple of days.

The 39-year-old composer-singer has scored music for successful Kannada films like Birugaali, Kempegowda, Varadanayaka and others.
