Mangalore, February 7: A seminar on "Corruption and Youth" was held on Sunday at Chavadi Auditorium in Thokkottu near here.
Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has organised the seminar to commemorate its leader Ramesh Nayak.
Renowned Cartoonist P Muhammad inaugurated the seminar. Dr. Nagappa Gowda, Kannada Lecturer of Mangalore University spoke on the topic.
Muneer Katipalla, District President of DYFI presided over the function.
Belagavi, Mar 19: South Western Railway (SWR) on Thursday increased the fares of the platform tickets at Belagavi, Hubballi and Ballari.
The rate of platform tickets has been increased to Rs 50 with effect from Thursday till March 31, in order to control the crowding at platforms in view of the coronavirus outbreak.
Belagavi, Hubballi, and Bellari were all big stations and maximum number of people, including both passengers and those there to see them off come or to receive them at these railway stations, a SWR official sources said.
Bengaluru, May 4: A total of 37 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in Karnataka taking the total number to 651, State Health Department said on Monday.
"Thirty seven new coronavirus positive cases have been confirmed in Karnataka from 5 pm yesterday to 5 pm today. The total number of cases in the state stands at 651," the department said.
The total number of cases includes 27 deaths and 321 persons who have been discharged. Of the remaining 302 cases, 296 patients are in isolation in designated hospitals and six patients are in ICU.
India has registered 2,553 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours and the total number of cases now stands at 44,532.
Yadgir, Jan 21: A bag was found abandoned at the Yadgir Bus Stand on Tuesday morning that left the commuters in panic.
After receiving the information, a police team, along with a sniffer dog, rushed to the spot. When the bag was checked, the police found clothes and cash in it.
It is stated that a passenger might have left the bag in a hurry to catch the bus.
