Renovated kitchen at Krishnapur Mutt opened

Udupi, Feb 10: Krishnapur Mutt pontiff Sri Vidayasagara Theertha Swamiji on Thursday inaugurated the renovated kitchen, at Srikrishna temple, facilitating the preparation of 'Naivedya' to the presiding deities – Srikrishna ana Mukhyaprana.


On the occasion Paryaya Shiroor Mutt pontiff Sri Laxmivara Theertha Swamiji honoured the donor of the renovation works Manohar Shetty of Radha Medicals. Pejawar Mutt pontiff Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji, Pejawar Junior pontiff Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji, Sode Mutt pontiff Sri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji and others were present.

Bengaluru, Mar 18: In the backdrop of the breakdown of the COVID-19 virus across the state, the ongoing Budget session of the Karnataka Assembly, which is scheduled to end of this month, is likely to be cut short by one week.

According to official sources, the state government, which had shut down all the congregating places including Malls, Theatres, Marriage Halls and banned all the public functions, is in favor of the cutting short the ongoing Assembly session, to give focus on keeping a tab on the COVID-19 disease.

Mangaluru, May 7: Thousands of migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, led by Congress leader Mithun Rai, staged a protest here on Wednesday demanding that they be allowed to return to their native places.

The workers started a protest demonstration opposite Mangaluru City Corporation office in the city. Police dispersed the crowd for violating social distancing norms.

The workers said they have nowhere to go and nothing to eat. Therefore, they are demanding to be sent back to their states. They however, had crowded together without following the social distance norm. 

In the wake of protest, prohibitory orders under section 144(3) were imposed in Dakshina Kannada district between 7pm and 7 am till May 17 to check the spread of Covid-19.

Bengaluru, Apr 25: With 26 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the past 24 hours, the total number of positive cases in Karnataka reached 500 on Saturday.

This includes 158 patients who have been cured and discharged following treatment while 18 deaths have been reported so far due to the infection in the State, according to a media bulletin issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday evening.

A total of 324 COVID-19 cases are currently active in the State as of Saturday evening 5 pm.
According to the bulletin, Bengaluru Urban with 133 positive cases, including 49 discharged and four deaths, is the worst-affected district in the State, followed by Mysuru and Belagavi, with 89 and 54 confirmed cases, respectively.
