Kudroli: Salafi Masjid to be inaugurated on Feb 25

Mangalore, February 22: A newly built Salafi Masjid at Karbala Road in Kudroli here will be formally inaugurated on Friday, February 25.

The Masjid is named after “Sheikha Muhammad Al Meraikhi”.

The Jum'a Khuthba will be delivered by Maulavi PP Abdussalam Mongam, Imam of Masjid Sheikh Maqtoom, Dera-Dubai at 12:40 pm.

A religious discourse will also be held on the same day between 2:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Abdullah Mubarak Zaaid Muhammad Al Meraikhi, Proprietor, Al-Shifa International Water Company, Qatar, Abdul Rahman Ibrahim, Manager, Shekh Hafiz Sajid Mudah, Delhi, Shrikar Prabhu, President BJP Mangalore South Zone Constituency, KS Muhammad Masood, Former Chairman, Karnataka Minorities Commission, Ravindra K Gadadi, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mangalore Sub Division, Abdul Azeez, Corporator and B Aboobakar, Ex Corporator will be thr chief guests on the occasion.

Ahmed Ansar, President, SKSM, will inaugurate the programme.

Madikeri, Apr 17: A person who had returned from Spain in March was subjected to home quarantine on Thursday in Sowarpet in Kodagu district.

The person had arrived at Bengaluru on March 16 and went to Balele. Yesterday, he came to his estate house in Kumburu village in Somwarpet.

Availing the information, Tahsildar Govindaraju, police officials and health department staff visited the spot and gathered the necessary information.

Hubli, Feb 19: The Karnataka Police on Wednesday registered a case against unknown persons for assaulting three Kashmiri students in the court premises here.

A suo motu FIR has been registered at Vidyanagar police station of Hubli in which assault charges have been filed against 10 to 15 unknown people.

It can be recalled that on February 17 these three Kashmiri students were attacked in court premises after they were produced in court on charges of sedition.

The Kashmiri students were arrested here on February 15 after their video in which they are seen allegedly raising pro-Pakistan slogans went viral.

The students were studying at the KLE Institute of Technology on a central government scholarship.

Mangaluru, Apr 10: Eight people were arrested on Friday on charges of illegally arriving at Addur near the city through boat violating the lockdown.
 
Police said that Yakub and other seven in his group have been charged with criminal cases for entering the city illegally as the border between Kerala and Karnataka has been sealed and a ban on travel between the States is in effect.
 
The group had arrived through boat despite there was ban. Police are now investigating the existence of a gang who are illegally transporting people through the sea across State borders.
