Mangalore, February 23: Challenging Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to list the achievements of the BJP government during his 1000 days of reign, Mangalore MLA UT Khader said the one and only achievement of the incumbent government is nothing but corruption.

He was speaking to media persons at a press meet held at the district Congress office here on Wednesday.

“When the first BJP government of Karnataka completed its 100 days, there was a celebration. When it completed one year, there was a celebration. When it completed two years the same celebration continued and now it is celebrating its 1000 days of power” Khader said adding that one cannot see any pro-people programme being introduced by the government and it is only busy with celebrations.

“Did this government provide a single site for anyone in any corner of the state in these 1000 days? Was it able to build a single High School or a Pre University College or a Degree College in any part of the state? No! But, still Mr Yeddyurappa proudly proclaims that Karnataka has bagged numero uno position in the development in the entire country,” he said.

Stating that the enlargement of the budget size and funds allocation are an annual phenomenon and they cannot be claimed as achievements, Khader said successful implementation of the programmes announced in the budget matters the most.

“The announcement of the previous budgets of this government has never been implemented so far and hence one can call these budget announcements as bundles of lies,” he said and predicted that same thing may happen in tomorrow's budget too.

Local Congress leaders Eshwar Ullal and Chandrahas Karkera were present along with the MLA at the press meet.
