Beary Kalaranga marries off two couples

Mangalore, February 26: Two couples entered into wedlock in a wedding ceremony arranged by Beary Kalaranga as part of its “Beary Samskrithika Ayana” programme at Fiza Ground in Krishnapura near here on Saturday.

Hamza of Theerthahalli solemnized his marriage with Dilshad of Hosangady while Imthiyaz of Hosangady entered into marital life with Zohara of Theerthahalli. Mangalore Qazi Thwaqa Ahmed Musliyar conducted the rituals.

The grooms who arrived on horses, were escorted to the venue accompanied by band and other musical instruments, and duff.

President of Kalaranga Azeez Baikampady presided over the function. Karnataka Beary Sahithya Academy Chairman MB Abdul Rahman, Bangalore Bearys Welfare Association President BM Farooq, District Hajj Managing Committee President Y Muhammad Kunhi, Haris, PBA Razaq, Bashir Baikampady, Aboobaker Natekal, Askaf, BA Nasir and others were present.

Hussain Katipalla welcomed the gathering while Samad Katipalla proposed the vote of thanks.

Zakir Ullal and Kalandar Sha Krishnapura compered the programme.

In memory of Marhoom Haji P Hasanabba Master, competitions such as essay writing, story writing and seminars have been arranged.

Oppane, Kolkali, Daff, Taleemu, semi-ballet “Then Kinna”(Honey-Bowl), historical drama “Odi Baniya” (Shared Business) and social drama “Dham Biryani” will be performed later in the evening.

Mangaluru, Apr 4: The mother and grandmother of the 10-month-old baby boy, under treatment at a private hospital in Deralakatte here for COVID-19 infection, tested negative.

Doctors at the hospital said the condition of the infant, who was admitted with an acute respiratory infection, was stable and there had been a good response to the treatment being given in isolation.

The child, hailing from Sajipanadu Village in Bantwal Taluk was admitted to a hospital at Deralakatte in Mangaluru for treatment on March 23 as it had developed respiratory problems. 

On March 24, the child’s condition worsened and hence his throat swabs was sent for COVID-19 testing. On March 27, reports of the tests confirmed that the child was infected with COVID-19.

Health authorities are of the view that the baby might have contracted the disease when the family travelled recently to Kasaragod in Kerala, a district identified as a hotspot for Coronavirus.

Bengaluru,  Aug 1: As many as 5,172 new COVID-19 cases and 98 deaths were reported in Karnataka on Saturday, taking the state's count of coronavirus cases to 1,29,287.

The active cases in the state now stand at 73,219 while 53,648 people have been discharged.

"5,172 new COVID-19 cases and 98 deaths reported in Karnataka in the last 24 hours, taking total cases to 1,29,287 including 53,648 discharges and 2,412 deaths. The number of active cases stands at 73,219," said State Health Department.

So far, a total of 2,412 people have died in the state.

India, on Saturday, reported 57,117 new COVID-19 cases, taking the country's coronavirus tally to 16,95,988, said the Union Health Ministry.

Tirumala, Jul 16: As many as 14 priests of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) were tested positive for COVID-19 in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, said Anil Kumar Singhal, Executive officer, TTD.

Singhal also held a meeting with temple priests, health and vigilance officials today.

On July 14, Singhal held 'Dial your EO' programme at TTD administrative building conference hall wherein the EO addressed the devotees and media and informed that 91 TTD employees have tested positive for COVID-19 till date.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the state has reported 35,451 COVID-19 cases including, 16,621 active cases, 18,378 recovered and 452 deaths so far.
