Dhikr helps to turn our mind towards spirituality: Kajoor Thangal

Belthangady, March 15: In order to gain the mercy of Almighty and concentrate our mind towards spirituality and divinity, people should engage themselves in Dhikr, said Zainul Abideen Jamalulleili Thangal Kajoor.

He was delivering presidential address at Dikr Majlis which was held as part of the first anniversary celebration of Mansharussaquafathil Islamiyya at Mansharabad at Gerukatte in Guruvayanakere near here.

He said besides propagating peace, Islam has also given prominence to material and spiritual education. Therefore, people should become independent gaining both worldly and spiritual education, he said.

The programme began with Du'a by Usthadul Asatheed Ali Kunhi Usthad. Ujire Ismaeel Al-Hadi Thangal inaugurated the programme.

Abdurrahman Sadath Thangal Guruvayanakere also addressed the gathering.

Sayyid Pookunhi Thangal Adur, Abdussalam Thangal Ultur, Sayyid Kunhi Koya Thangal Sullia, Sayyid Jalaluddin Thangal Hanifi Mulleria, Sayyid CTM Haris Thangal Assaqaf Malappuram, Sayyid Jafar Swadiq Thangal, Sayyid Musthafa Thangal Alake, Sayyid Shahul Hameed Thangal Mardala and others were present.

Hafiz Yakoob Sa'adi Al Aflali Navoor compered the programme.

Bengaluru, Mar 28: A case has been registered against an Infosys employee in Bengaluru for a shocking social media post urging people to "go out and sneeze" and spread the highly contagious COVID-19 virus that has infected over 800 people across the country and claimed 19 lives.

"Let's join hands, go out and sneeze with open mouth in public. Spread the virus," the man wrote on Facebook.
"A case has been registered against the person. Further investigation on. Looking forward to get adequate support from your end during investigation," Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, Bengaluru city tweeted by tagging along a tweet by Infosys.
Taking congnisance of the post by its employee, the Infosys said the post was "against the code of conduct and its commitment to responsible social sharing".
"Infosys has completed its investigation on the social media post by one of its employees and we believe that this is not a case of mistaken identity," the company said in a statement on Twitter.
"The social media post by the employee is against Infosys' code of conduct and its commitment to responsible social sharing. Infosys has a zero tolerance policy towards such acts and has accordingly, terminated the services of the employee," the statement added.

Earlier this month, the IT firm had vacated one of its buildings in Bengaluru after an employee was suspected to be infected.

Ballari, Jan 6: Two members of a family were killed in a cylinder explosion at their home in Sanjeevarayana Kote, here on Monday morning, police said.

The deceased were identified as Parvathi and her daughter Huliyamma.

The incident took place when the two were in the kitchen. Fire tenders were rushed to the rescue.

Mangaluru, May 5: The Dakshina Kannada district administration has denotified two containment zones, Sampya in Puttur and Thumbe in Bantwal. They were declared containment zones after one coronavirus positive case was reported from each area.

All the primary and secondary contacts of the patients have completed home quarantine period, said DC Sindhu B Rupesh.

The district administration hitherto had already denotified three other such containment zones based on a report of DHO,  after no new case was reported in the area in the last 28 days.

At present, the district has six containment zones-- Shakthinagara, Boloor, First Neuro Hospital in Mangaluru city, Uppinangady in Puttur, Kasaba and Narikombu in Bantwal taluk.
